  2. Also Gary at Renno workshop in Frankston.
  3. For servicing try Alpine Affaire or Auto Paris. Both in Melbourne's east. Stay away from the dealers.
  4. Welcome. What colour did you get? Future value should be good for the manual especially as they tend to be the safer and more enjoyable buy in a second hand older car market, as we know, its the second hand market demanding manuals! Enjoy.
  5. Hi there, I'm new to the Renault brand having purchased a late 2021 (Aug) Megane RS300 Trophy over the weekend (yet to be collected). I'm looking forward to engaging in the form and adding value where I can. Perhaps I'm a little nieve and foolish, because I haven't done a lot o research on the brand or model, I simply fell in love with the looks, driving performance and dynamics of the car on test drive. I love an engaging driving experience and therefore wanted and purchased a manual with less than 10,000kms. Can anyone share with me some insights into the vehicle, the good, bad points or experiences? I'm based in Melbourne (East) and would welcome any recommendations on the best service centre for my new vehicle. I'm also interested in any thoughts on the likely impact of the used car value looking forward, based on the ICE Megane being discontinued and if the value is likely to be better for the manual?

  7. Essentially yes. Syringe or pressure bleeder can be used, I tried both and failed, likley because my tools are "Supercheap" home mechanic spec and don't really seal that well, as in very hard to push the right amount of fluid up with out it popping off the valve and re introducing air. If you half fill a bottle and have the hose submerged it doesn't allow for air to re enter the system, the same kind of way you would bleed your brakes. Solution would be a bleed valve with a proper screw on attachment, like a tyre filler type valve, that would be great.. or an external slave cylinder like old cars.
  8. Meg 3 requires a syringe to inject fluid in, think the Meg 2 maybe the same?
  9. Firstly, don't be dismayed, have seen some rather experienced mechanics scratch their head trying to bleed a Megane Clutch. Reverse bleed from the gearbox end. I fashioned a bleeder with a used Powerade bottle and some rubber hose, you need to push the air up the master, there is a lot of clicking the bleeder back and forwards and you will spill a decent amount of fluid so buy twice as much as required. Note. Don't use actual Powerade, boiling point is far too low. Good luck.
  10. Bet your leg was tired after that...
  11. Thanks guys. Yep tried all that. I read on a UK forum to keep the clutch pressed in for at least a few hours and it seemed to work. Clutch back to normal.
  12. The master and the line across the back of the firewall and to the bleed nipple should just gravity bleed with a little patience.
  13. It’s a pita because the slave cylinder is a dead end. After struggling for ages to bleed mine what finally got it was reading somewhere you need to get violent… 10 quick pushes in very quick succession sort of shocks the bubbles back out of the slave and back to the bleed nipples.
  14. Use a pressure bleeder for best results.

All the same little shite things go wrong as with the 250, 265 and the main thing as per usual is timing belt. The only problems that I’ve fixed lately playing with Meglll’s now is, expansion bottles crack on top, auto door lock/open, engine mounts, electric hand brake and sensitive batteries. Yes, I do have a silver GT 220 listed at present and with the second hand market at the moment, come over and have a look and make a silly offer as you never know.

  19. I was reading all the comments as this post is a little bit old. Now if someone is looking for Canberra to Adelaide car transport, I would recommend P&S Logistics to you. Request a quote I hope you will get a reasonable price and they have a door to door option also. I have used them for my cars several times and they never disappointed me. As far as you have concerns about reviews, I personally check the reviews of many car transporters like CEVA, Prixcar, P&S Logistics, and many others, they all have mixed ratings. I am sharing my personal experience here with you but for satisfaction you first explore these companies before confirming any bookings.

    Hi to all

Hi all, I recently about 4 weeks ago picked up my new car a Mint condition 2012 Megane RS250. Corey
  28. The time was right for me to move on. The reality was that I was using the car to commute for 20 min each way on the highway and I just didn't need a car like that for that application. It was completely wasted on me and I'm glad to see it go to an owner from within the community who will use it for what it was made for. Also, my twins are nudging 5 years old now and getting them in and out of the back was getting painful. The van won't be stock for long so I might create a build thread somewhere for it. It's not going to be heavily modified, but it is getting a few little customisations here and there.
