  1. Hello RallySportNZ, apple3337, slick & Bikecrazy, Thank you for your responses, advice and opinions, it's great to be part of the community. The colour is Flame Red, I love the orange and yellow, however this specimen is simply immaculate and perhaps the Flame Red won't attract too much unwanted attention 😉 I'll check out the suggested service centres, I'll need to organise a roadworthy my self, which is more of an administrative task given the age and kms, so I may get intimate with one if they do RWCs. I appreciate the heads up on those potential issues and will likely take you advice on service intervals. The battery was replaced just before I collected it and it's had 3 services in its 9800km existence which aligns with your advice. I'm hopeful that the future value is high with it being a manual performance vehicle and no longer being manufactured, but I guess we're really expecting the subculture to remain strong 🤞

  2. Hi there, I'm new to the Renault brand having purchased a late 2021 (Aug) Megane RS300 Trophy over the weekend (yet to be collected). I'm looking forward to engaging in the form and adding value where I can. Perhaps I'm a little nieve and foolish, because I haven't done a lot o research on the brand or model, I simply fell in love with the looks, driving performance and dynamics of the car on test drive. I love an engaging driving experience and therefore wanted and purchased a manual with less than 10,000kms. Can anyone share with me some insights into the vehicle, the good, bad points or experiences? I'm based in Melbourne (East) and would welcome any recommendations on the best service centre for my new vehicle. I'm also interested in any thoughts on the likely impact of the used car value looking forward, based on the ICE Megane being discontinued and if the value is likely to be better for the manual?

  3. Welcome. Not much goes wrong with the manuals. Fuel pump issues with earlier models, I believe pre 2021. Some cars had boot lid misaligned so rubbed against the body when shut. Quick check will confirm this and dealers can re align Some cars have oil leaking from the dampers a quick visual inspection can confirm this, will be covered under warranty if this is the case. Battery is very small and does not like it if only driven short distances. - must do - turn off the keyless entry/ proximity sensor from the settings. Will save the car battery somewhat. - if possible keep the car on a good battery tender like optimate 3 amp model when parked over night. - I personally would do not adhere to 10k km service schedule which is a marketing ploy imo . An oil/oil filter change every 5-6k km if possible specially if you are intending to keep it for a while.

  4. For servicing try Alpine Affaire or Auto Paris. Both in Melbourne's east. Stay away from the dealers.

  5. Welcome. What colour did you get? Future value should be good for the manual especially as they tend to be the safer and more enjoyable buy in a second hand older car market, as we know, its the second hand market demanding manuals! Enjoy.

  7. Hey guys. Ended up selling my Megane a few weeks ago. Very sad to see it go, but the car was 100% wasted on me. Now the proud owner of a 2019 JF3 Honda N-Box Custom. I'm still going to be active on the forum, so if you ever need anything or have any questions, either shoot me a DM or tag me in the post. Cheers!

  8. Hey all. Just picked up a 197 in Sydney. Aiming to get on track next year. Will hopefully take the rest of this year to sure up anything the car needs and save some money for consumables. Any advice appreciated I believe the car has got the maf sensor mod to make sure it sticks and a better motor mount. Currently on nankang semi slicks that are atrociously loud lol. Other than that not to sure. I'm not the most mechanical minded but hoping to learn more with the car. Cheers!

  9. My understanding was prices aren't bad in the UK for any Renault Sport vehicles. I'd just sell it there if you are 100% on selling it. Otherwise bring here and sell to me for cheap 😁...

  11. Thanks guys. Yep tried all that. I read on a UK forum to keep the clutch pressed in for at least a few hours and it seemed to work. Clutch back to normal.

  12. I was reading all the comments as this post is a little bit old. Now if someone is looking for Canberra to Adelaide car transport, I would recommend P&S Logistics to you. Request a quote I hope you will get a reasonable price and they have a door to door option also. I have used them for my cars several times and they never disappointed me. As far as you have concerns about reviews, I personally check the reviews of many car transporters like CEVA, Prixcar, P&S Logistics, and many others, they all have mixed ratings. I am sharing my personal experience here with you but for satisfaction you first explore these companies before confirming any bookings.

  13. Hey guys, Short term lurker, first time poster! Picked up my 2011 Megane RS250 Cup Trophee this morning and will be saying goodbye to my 2011 VW Mk6 GTi this afternoon. So far I'm loving the car and look forward to learning all of the little intricacies that the car has and how it all works. The car has an intake and the resonator delete already done so I'm pretty chuffed about that, and I just need to get used to having 3 pedals again after getting around with the DSG for the last 3.5 years! Completely not a plug, but I'm the motorsport category manager at Brakes Direct so if anyone from the community needs any pads or rotors for your car, please feel free to reach out to me through the work channels or via here and I'll look after you guys as much as I can! I look forward to catching up with you guys at some point in the near future! I'm based in Brisbane at the moment so will be keeping an eye out for anything that's happening in the area. Ben

  14. The time was right for me to move on. The reality was that I was using the car to commute for 20 min each way on the highway and I just didn't need a car like that for that application. It was completely wasted on me and I'm glad to see it go to an owner from within the community who will use it for what it was made for. Also, my twins are nudging 5 years old now and getting them in and out of the back was getting painful. The van won't be stock for long so I might create a build thread somewhere for it. It's not going to be heavily modified, but it is getting a few little customisations here and there.

  15. Hello, I'm relocating to Australia and own a Clio V6 Mk1. I was going to sell it over in the UK but should I import it to Australia. If I import it to Australia I'll probably only keep it for 6 months so anyone interested in buying a Mk1 Clio V6
