Blake7373 Posted 20, March 2012 Report Posted 20, March 2012 G'Day folks, Picking up my new RS 250 Cup today with Trophee 19" rims, am fairly thrilled and look forward to getting to know this site. Are there any club meets in Sunshine Coast/Brisbane region? Thanks. Blake Quote
bozz Posted 20, March 2012 Report Posted 20, March 2012 Welcome Blake! I suspect you'll LOVE the new ride! The RCCQ has a happy laps at QLD Raceway on Sunday, but you wouldn't be taking it on track just yet I wouldn't think. Keep an eye on the Social Events thread for drive days etc. Enjoy! bozz Quote
nemz Posted 21, March 2012 Report Posted 21, March 2012 Welcome Blake and congrats on the purchase! That's an interesting combo - a Cup with Trophee wheels. Quote
Blake7373 Posted 21, March 2012 Author Report Posted 21, March 2012 Someone else bought a Trophee and wanted the Cup wheels so the Trophee's went on mine. Happy with that myself but have heard the 19's are love or hate. Quote

Opposite_Lock Posted 21, March 2012 Report Posted 21, March 2012 Welcome Sunshine coast hinterland has some great driving roads so youll definately have plenty of opportunity to stretch its legs. Enjoy Quote
Jeffie Posted 21, March 2012 Report Posted 21, March 2012 Glad they didn't try to charge you for them! Congrats! Quote
LigerZero Posted 21, March 2012 Report Posted 21, March 2012 You'll love the car regardless of the wheels. The chassis is to die for. Welcome. Quote
Teki04 Posted 22, March 2012 Report Posted 22, March 2012 No one has asked - so what colour is the Cup?! I think the 19" Steev wheels actually really suit the Black inserts of the Cup, as the inside of the rim is black gloss too. Pics or you didn't buy it... Quote

It's white, and already a source of great pleasure, even in torrential sunshine coast rain. Will try and upload pic. Quote

Wolf Posted 26, March 2012 Report Posted 26, March 2012 Hi Blake, SE QLDer... very good to have you on board. There are the happy laps coming up, and perhaps a drive day in the works soon for the 2 coast and Brissie lads. Anyways, all the best, and pics when you can. Cheers, WOLF Quote
Blake7373 Posted 26, March 2012 Author Report Posted 26, March 2012 Folks, What are thoughts on run in? Will a couple of redline beeps hurt? Have been moderate for 85% of first 500km including 300 at highway, but a bit paranoid after a couple of relatively gentle bursts.... PS how do I upload a photo from iPhone? Quote
griffyn Posted 26, March 2012 Report Posted 26, March 2012 Pictures from an iPhone are problematic. I'd suggest Dropbox, but it won't be a three-taps-and-you're-done affair. You'll need to download the app, upload your photo to the 'public' folder, copy the URL and plonk it into tags ... Easy, right? Quote
Wolf Posted 26, March 2012 Report Posted 26, March 2012 As for running in the car Blake... last discussion lead to - drive it hard and don't baby it - or the other side of the coin was drive it normally, give it stick, but variation in speed and revs is key. I go with the latter. Cheers, WOLF Quote
chiapoco Posted 26, March 2012 Report Posted 26, March 2012 does run in period usually refer to the first 1000kms? Quote

Blake7373 Posted 26, March 2012 Author Report Posted 26, March 2012 I have loaded a quick snapshot in the Garage (for the skeptics). Cheers Quote
RaindancerAU Posted 28, March 2012 Report Posted 28, March 2012 Welcome! If your 250 engine progresses in the same way mine did - you've still got thousands of kilometers (I'm at almost 8000kms now) in which it will get better and better everytime you drive it Enjoy! Quote
Blake7373 Posted 29, March 2012 Author Report Posted 29, March 2012 I coach an under 11 league team on the sunshine coast. A few of the boys saw me pull up today for training. One of the boys said "sweet ride"! Not bad for a 10yo. Quote
