Trauma Posted 4, October 2018 Report Share Posted 4, October 2018 Hello everybody - just joined the forum. My evil plan is to steal your collective Intellectual Property about how to make a fast track weapon out of a Megane RS Trophee on a budget. (if I wasn't such a lard-arse I would go for a Clio) Then to dominate the time sheets at Wakefield Park! I have owned a Golf Gti for years - but was blown away by Rob 240's RS 275 Trophee RS on a ride along earlier in the year. Then I drove my Mustang up at the farm and was disgusted with how sloppy it was in comparison. (it is definitely not built for a race track) Fast front wheel drives are awesome fun on a track when set-up right and that is what I want to learn. All advice welcome. 4
tfdpny Posted 4, October 2018 Report Share Posted 4, October 2018 Trophee or Trophy? Trophee is 250 only, and just a spec pack basically - not required for tracking. Then there's 265 Trophy, Trophy+, Trophy 8:08, 275 Trophy and 275 Trophy-R....
ttimbo Posted 4, October 2018 Report Share Posted 4, October 2018 Might you be interested in a Trophy-R?

Will investigate but it is a 250.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

walkie86 Posted 5, October 2018 Report Share Posted 5, October 2018 Welcome Mark but I must ask you these questions three: - WHAT is your name? - WHAT is your favourite colour? - WHAT is your preferred specification of RENAULTsport Megane configuration? But seriously, I look forward to assisting on the journey! Alex

AlexHi Alex - I didn’t know you were lurking out there in the interweb! These Renaults are tricky - different model specs and trim packages every bloody year!To answer your questions:1. Mark2. Maroon ( I am a Queenslander)3. I would love to build a clio with a Megane 2 litre in it.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Trauma Posted 6, October 2018 Author Report Share Posted 6, October 2018 This + Megane engine/gearbox swap, please. It is gorgeous and over the top and frivolous - i love it.Do you know of anyone doing such an engine swap? They both have 2 litre blocks I think - but turbo plumbing is always an issue.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
rob 240 Posted 7, October 2018 Report Share Posted 7, October 2018 Great project ! Like putting a 2.4 Ltr K24 into a 900kg MGF - about as sensible and almost as much fun 😬

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Chat to @ace who has built a turbo Clio (Clio 2). If you do this, make sure to budget for the LSD because the lack of one will be especially noticeable with the turbo engine. Biggest issue may be getting the various computers to work, so an extensive auto electrical path you will likely walk. Then if course for the budget needed to turbo a Clio well, you could build a very mighty Meg. Stripped out (a la Trophy R) they get down close to Clio weights... And have the LSD and Perfohub which makes the magic happen that you refer to... Food for thought. Welcome to the forum!
DOOOOK Posted 8, October 2018 Report Share Posted 8, October 2018 Will it be a trailer queen or remain road registered? Here's Pete's ride thread which is an inexpensive way of making a handy 250 for the track: http://www.ozrenaultsport.com/topic/28824-track-only-megane-rs250/
