New to the renault game. Got my hands on a 2013 renault megane rs 265 trophy+ She is coming home tomorrow. The Kms are a little on the high side but it's a one owner car with full renault log book history. Taking it for a test drive last week was just a little taste of how awesome this car is going to be.

Welcome!

Best bang for driving fun you'll find.

Have had mine for 7/8 years and still love driving it.

Also makes me a better driver because I always want to get it right.

Advise you to do track days and learn to drive it properly, in a safe environment, if you don't do them already.

Also some track day driver tuition, if you haven't done it already.

That also lets you resist the urge of using it's performance on public roads.

Otherwise, the red and blue light brigade will enjoy handing out the fines.

Apart from the fact you need to be considerate of other road users.

Post up some pics when you get a chance.

AND follow the log book maintenance schedule to maintain reliability.

Hey cairnsy thanks for the reply. I'll definitely take track lessons into consideration, the boys in blue already have thing for me with my previous car. Today is the big day I'll definitely post picks when she is home. Do you still go to renault dealers for your services? Or just a good mechanic.

Welcome to our mob.

Most of us go to good "specialist" RenaultSport mechanics - there are a few around Melbourne: Virage (Carl) in Sth Melbourne, one in Box Hill (? Auto Paris) and another one I think out Bayswater way. Also The Renno Workshop in Frankston, where I recently took our 182 for a belt/water pump change. And several of us DIY simple stuff, like oil changes etc

I use RenoTech in Sydney for services.

Great people who are enthusiasts themselves.

What little they don't know about Renaults they are keen to find out.

Enjoy your car, stay safe, in every respect.

Taken the car for multiple runs today only issue is a clunking noise under dry or lock steering. I've heard it b4 in my old car with a locked lsd. Is it just normal diff shudder or is something wrong

Welcome to the club!

Pretty sure it's the lsd. Mainly prominent on tight turns and full lock at slow speeds.

So my first day with the car and its pretty damn sweet handling is soo good and power is quite surprising. Only gripes are the cup holder situation and the infotainment system. Would love to swap the factory screen for something better. But I can live with it.

Hello. Trying to find rims will 19x8.5 +45 fit?

Yep, from all accounts as low as you'd want to go with the offset  at 8.5" wide

Congratulations @Kranix! Trophy+ is a great spec. How many kms did you pick it up with? Full service history is the main thing.

Thanks. They are high but I drive less then 10k a year but 137km full service history from brand new if I'm not mistaken.

Thinking of buying a bmc panel filter and removing the sound deadening foam. Yay or nay ?

yep do it! cheap and easy way to get abit more induction noise.

also look to cut out the centre res for a better exhaust note, thats a must if it hasnt been done already!

This is what a good one sounds like when peddled the way it should be.

Centre res for sure.

Cutting the backbox out only creates drone ive heard.

I removed my centre then changed my backbox for a smaller resonator after awhile to add more grunt

So after my first week of owning the rs I have to say it's pretty mint my mechanic gave it the all clear so I'm really happy.  For now I'm going to do a Window tint, bmc panel filter with foam removed, an ssqv, mid resi delete and back box removal replaced with a resonator and a small subwoofer.

Glad to hear you're enjoying it! Keep us updated with photos, please!

Just a word of caution on the rear muffler replacement. Make sure you go for a quality item that actual 'muffles' the noise a bit. My car came with (fitted by PO) a very cheap (think I saw a receipt for ~$150) rear muffler fitted to the stock exhaust with centre-res delete and it was drone city. I was lucky to find a stock rear muffler to refit and it was muuuuch more pleasant to the ear.

Plus one to @walkie86 comment above. It's easy to make it louder, but even easier to make it sound shit. Unfortunately the F4RT is just not a engine that lends itself to open or smaller mufflers in my opinion.

It's also a very personal topic, what some people will like many others won't. Res delete gives the increased pop's and bangs, but a smaller, cheapo muffler or deleting it altogether seems to remove it and just introduce drone.

I'd also think long and hard about BOV's, not sure there's an upside there apart from the noise, which again is a personal thing.

Thanks guys will keep that in mind so you definitely think instead of a resonator up the back it should be a performance muffler ? Getting it done at a exhaust shop they are bound by epa so I don't think they will let me walk out with something too loud. Will post pics as soon as the tint is done. Just did this though couldn't help my self

Honestly I'd start with the centre res delete and see how you like it. But if you do change the back box I would strongly recommend a good quality muffler over a hotdog or resonator.

Hahaha, red leds, good for the night vision! I did something slightly more subtle and fitted red led strips to the inside of my door pockets for something a bit different.

Yeah, no idea about updates, but generally accepted it's a bit crap. Good thing about the later one is you can run Android Auto for Nav and also media options.

Plus RS Monitor of course!

Down the Rabbit hole we go......

So you need the Screen, the Head Unit, the aux/USB hub. You don't actually need the harness, just bits of it. You could replace the entire harness but it's a dash out job and that's a much bigger job than just integrating the bits into the existing one without removing the dash.
