pat.lynch Posted 14, August 2011 Report Share Posted 14, August 2011 Hey everyone, My name's Pat I'm now the proud new owner of number 25! And on that note, anyone know if the cat or rear wheel bearing will make a low grumbly noise, especially in reverse Haha, it's started making this noise on the first night I was driving it
Eire Posted 14, August 2011 Report Share Posted 14, August 2011 Welcom Pat, if it was the rear wheel baring it would b more of a wine or humming noise id b thinking
pat.lynch Posted 14, August 2011 Author Report Share Posted 14, August 2011 I thought so, but the bearing were very recently changed by a mechanic I didn't know. So obviously that was my first suspicion. The cat was also done 5000kms ago, does it sound right that this has gone dodgy?
griffyn Posted 14, August 2011 Report Share Posted 14, August 2011 Howdy Pat, and welcome! Rear bearings are a known weak point, and can make a variety of noises They can be replaced independently by a competent mechanic fairly cheaply, so don't stress too much. pat.lynch Posted 14, August 2011 Author Report Share Posted 14, August 2011 Thanks! That's good to know! I've diagnosed it as a loose baffle somewhere... I feel honored that my Clio decided to initiate me to the world of French maintenance on our first night.
Aitch Posted 15, August 2011 Report Share Posted 15, August 2011 Welcome. It's not blue and in Birchgrove by any chance? Ph1 cat is a blockage, better with a sports cat anyway. Cheers Aitch Carded it.

pat.lynch Posted 16, August 2011 Author Report Share Posted 16, August 2011 Hey everyone, It's silver and on the east side of Melbourne. I'm pretty sure its not the cat, it already has a hi flow one installed as of ~5000ks/under a year ago.
Wolf Posted 21, August 2011 Report Share Posted 21, August 2011 Welcome aboard Pat. Does the noise come and go as you lean on the left or on the right? Anyways... pics when you can, give it a wash to present her well Cheers, WOLF
pat.lynch Posted 23, August 2011 Author Report Share Posted 23, August 2011 Washed it on Sunday, pics to come! It was an exhaust mount in the end, so I've wedged a piece of rubber in the hole and its sweet.
