dre81 Posted 30, October 2007 Report Share Posted 30, October 2007 hi all, a mate pointed me in this direction when I was about to buy a clio sport and I finally got one a couple of months ago. 03 model and the last few weeks have been a riot and it's black!! Can anyone tell me about drive days around Melbourne area? I was also advised that I should change timing belt despite the low Ks (40,000) due to the age. Any advice on this? Moosey Posted 30, October 2007 Report Share Posted 30, October 2007 Welcome to the forum, dre81! Four years old so timing belt and pulleys should be done. You should have the accessory belt done at the same time just to be sure. If something fails, you'll be up for thousands in repairs, so money well spent. You've already been directed to the social section for drives. Thanks ITHELIVING. We're having a National Meet this weekend in Nthn Victoria. Oh, and if you are happy to do so, throw a location into your profile so that people know where you're from when it comes to the social side of things. samo Posted 30, October 2007 Report Share Posted 30, October 2007 Thanks Moosey. Any ideas as to a good place to get this work done? national meet is no good but i'll keep my eyes peeled for next drive day. Looking forward to it! Apline Affair or Auto Paris or any Ultra Tune kinda place or Renault Dealer Apline Affair,Auto Paris and obviously Renault are renaul specialists so they should all do a reasonable job. Be prepared though you should expect to pay aroun 800 - 1300 dollars to get all the work done. its quite a big job. I got mine done at Renault Oakliegh - $1250 dollars. ITHELIVING Posted 30, October 2007 Report Share Posted 30, October 2007 thanks Samo, might have to get onto that soon. better safe than sorry hey Alpine Affaire and Auto Paris are highly regarded on this forum. If you want to take it to a dealer, I can definitely recommend City Automobiles in Richmond. Mentone Renault seems to have a good rep too. If you look in the dealers and garages section, I'm sure you'll be able to dig up heaps of info.
dre81 Posted 30, October 2007 Author Report Share Posted 30, October 2007 thanks for your help everyone, looks like i've stumbled on a great site can't wait to get out on the road with a group of other clios. They're an excellent car and no one suspects that you'll kick their ar$e in a take off and I've had a few disgruntled commo[n]dore owners in the last few weeks. Mase Posted 30, October 2007 Report Share Posted 30, October 2007 When the belt job is done have them check the coolant pump at the same time for leaks. Just a good idea to do so. Welcome and enjoy one of the best cars on the road!
