Newbie RS 265 Cup Premium owner

Hi Everyone,

Im a newbie megane owner coming from  a Japanese (Lancer VRX). So far really enjoying the switch however would like to know where to start in terms of upgrades etc. 
I won’t be driving on the track more day to day driving and  frequents motorways.

What are some recommendations on the following:

1. Tuning - not after a super performance enhancer more to tune car so it is more economical and a little increase in hp

2. intercooler/s upgrade? Is it worth considering?

3. audio upgrade ( listen to techno, so sub woofer a must, Lancer had Rockford Fosgate 9speaker+sub woofer as stock standard, the stereo in Megane is not great)

4. exhaust, already removed resonator 

5. Need to replace front splitter 

 

I know it’s a lot to ask at once but I would appreciate feedback to get me started on my journey thanks in advance ppl.

Intercooler, not worth doing unless a track car.

Exhaust, depends on whether you want sound or hp. Go downpipe (+tune) for hp. Cat back for sound.

My idea of audio is exhaust sound so can't help with the stereo. But you can update the stock system to include android auto if you have the later style unit.

Hey Dn2blue, thx for ur feedback.  Yes I must admit I’m still in my honeymoon period by listening to exhaust rather than tunes atm but would like the option to upgrade eventually was quoted $5-6k, not sure I want to spend that amount, it is from a reputable car sound specialist with a waiting time of 4 months.

I figured the inter cooler would be something  more for the track rather than day to day driving .

Hi mate. Regarding the intercooler, if you want to tune it I would say it’s quite worthwhile.  I am preparing for a tune and have been told reliably you will keep more of the gains if you do a cooler upgrade. I just did an upgrade and when you take out the standard one you see how small it is. Street driving non tuned it’s fine tho.

Focal upgrade for Audio is the simplest and probably smartest option. If you're an Android user, enabling Android Auto on the stock R-Link is very worthwhile for media and navigation.

I personally think Intercooler is a waste of effort, even with a tuned car, stock one is relatively small but effective, also doesn't block the radiator like most aftermarket ones do.

Oh, and Exhaust, res delete is the best simple option.

That aside it's a very personal choice, the F4RT isn't a glorious sounding motor, most aftermarket options sound like crap too me, just loud and droney. I suspect after the honeymoon period of a few weeks of WOT pulls most would happily go back to stock with the res delete.

Wow that’s a lot of work that I’m not experienced in doing must admit admire ur dedication in sorting the audio out though, I will fo sure take onboard everything mentioned into consideration, thx for the advice

Yeh I think I might leave exhaust as is don’t like loud and obnoxious, so res delete was a good decision
