CHRIS-172 Posted 14, June 2009 Report Share Posted 14, June 2009 Congrats. In the order you asked. 1.) We are working on one with Tarmac Magazine and we have the National met once a year (just gone) 2.) Trutrac in Melb appear to have done some good things with Meganes - Run a search on them 3.) Carbon Bonnet would save weight, Dave has one on his R26, maybe give him a PM 4.) 100kg thats alot mate, would be a serious weapon!

walkie86 Posted 15, June 2009 Report Share Posted 15, June 2009 Welcome! Congrats on the purchase As Chris said, I'd be taking it to Trutrak Suspension in Melbourne. Robbieraver on this forum works there. Also, if the R26 is your "track" car, what is your daily? Alex

R26DAVE Posted 16, June 2009 Report Share Posted 16, June 2009 Hey Harry. Welcome to the Forum. I noticed your car for sale a while ago, and posted up a link in the Meggy section (which I see you have found). It was interesting that the owner joined up to the forum quite soon afterwards, but only made one post, which was a shame as we were all keen to learn a bit more about the car. No matter, you're here now, and can tell us all about it.... Certainly looks like on of the most Hard Core R26s around. Regarding the Carbon Bonnet, I did a thread on it a while back, you may have found it by now. Long story short, there are a few places places you can get the aftermarket ones. The Genuine R26R ones cost an arm and two legs, and thats even if you can get them. Mine saves 5 kg in weight, and looks very nice while doing it too. In fact that was probably the main reason I got it, well, that and that no-one else has one. Cheers - Dave.

HI DAVE i get my car in about 10 days it ready to race just gotta do the brakes and a few more tweaks did you get you carbon bonnet from k-tec if so what did they charge you for freight do you do track days cheeers harry
R26DAVE Posted 16, June 2009 Report Share Posted 16, June 2009 Yes, I eventually got the bonnet from k-tec. I got it shipped by air, which was fairly expensive, and I cant remember exactly how much (probably blocked it from my memory..... ) You could get it shipped by sea if you want to wait / save a bit. Just drop them an e-mail, and they will do a quote for you. No track work for me at the moment, too many things on my plate, as well as living a long way from the nearest track doesen't help. Just enjoy driving the car. Cheers - Dave.

The Jeffster Posted 20, June 2009 Report Share Posted 20, June 2009 Hey mate welcome to the forum, be really interesting to get your car on the dyno and the scales to find out what the power to weight ratio is That way when you slaughter my time and Winton I would feel so bad :8 Enjoy the car mate, I love mine the Toyo's and the seats wold be worth 3 to 4 seconds in themselves and with brakes and a chip (want to know more might be worth getting RS tuner just to data log) should be a weapon All the best to bad you weren't at the nationals I am wearing the shirt right now! Wolf Posted 10, July 2009 Report Share Posted 10, July 2009 Hi Harry, Very nice track you have gone with. Glad to see someone will be pushing it to its limits. If and when you are interested, i can import the Genuine R26-R carbon fibre bonnet if available. Just send me a PM or email me even better. My post is in the For Sale section in case you haven't travelled there yet. In the commercial section. I'm still actually trying to confirm the fitment of R26-R rotors on to R26s. Love to see pics, and hope all goes well for you. Cheers. WOLF.
