Sidekick Posted 6, August 2015 Report Posted 6, August 2015 (edited) Hey everyone I'm looking at buying a new or demo Clio RS Sport but I was wondering if there are any differences between the 2014 model and the 2015? TIA Edited 6, August 2015 by Sidekick Quote
ZoomJC Posted 6, August 2015 Report Posted 6, August 2015 Not as far as I know. I think most new/demo vehicles in Australia now are 2014 build and 2015 compiled. Quote
chris043 Posted 7, August 2015 Report Posted 7, August 2015 Not as far as I know. I think most new/demo vehicles in Australia now are 2014 build and 2015 compiled. Exactly right....and you will probably pay less for a 2014 build, especially a demonstrator. Quote
No152 Posted 7, August 2015 Report Posted 7, August 2015 Check the warranty. I am not sure if the sale date or build date triggers the 5 year warranty, but 2015 ones have 5 year warranty (sold after March or something), whereas the 2014 ones have 3 years. Quote
cairnsy Posted 7, August 2015 Report Posted 7, August 2015 (edited) My 265 has a build date of 10/2012 and was registered by the dealer and used as a demo in 03/2013. I purchased in 10/2013 and 3 year warranty runs out 03/2016. i.e., 3 years from first registration. Edited 7, August 2015 by cairnsy Quote
Tonyla1 Posted 7, August 2015 Report Posted 7, August 2015 My 265 was built September 2014, Australian compliance Jan 2015 and the 5 year (factory) plus an extra 1 year (dealer) warranty commences date of 1st registration, being April 2015. Quote
No152 Posted 7, August 2015 Report Posted 7, August 2015 My 265 was built September 2014, Australian compliance Jan 2015 and the 5 year (factory) plus an extra 1 year (dealer) warranty commences date of 1st registration, being April 2015. Good to know and seems consistent. My partner's Clio was purchased and registered in 2014, and has 3 years. My Trophy R was registered April this year, and has 5 years. Compliance on the R is 2015. Michael Posted 7, August 2015 Report Posted 7, August 2015 5 year warranty on RS was introduced on July 1, 2014. Any new RS sold on or after that date is therefore covered by a 5 year warranty. Quote
chris043 Posted 7, August 2015 Report Posted 7, August 2015 I believe the 3 year warranty changed to 5 years around July, 2014 as Michael said. I bought my 2014 demo Clio RS200 in early October, 2014 (registered 27th August, 2014) with 5 year warranty. You could certainly negotiate for a 5 year warranty, road service etc. anyway at the point of sale if it is not offered. Quote
No152 Posted 7, August 2015 Report Posted 7, August 2015 Good point. SWMBO must have just missed the 5 year warranty then on hers... Plus a little dealer misinformation too, then, as when I was taking delivery of mine, they were initially talking 3 years (in the days before delivery), but on the day of delivery I was pleasantly surprised to be advised it was "now" 5 years. That was late March this year. Maybe Queensland was just behind the times... Never seen that before... lol Quote
Sidekick Posted 7, August 2015 Author Report Posted 7, August 2015 Thanks everyone I would have never thought to check the warranty! Also has anyone found the 18" wheels less forgiving then the 17" wheels? I really like the black alloys on the RS cup but not sure if the ride would be any less comfortable. Quote
ZoomJC Posted 7, August 2015 Report Posted 7, August 2015 Picked up my Cup today - ride is firm but not uncomfortable, much more compliant than the RS265, about the same as my RX8. Quote
BUSGO Posted 9, August 2015 Report Posted 9, August 2015 The ride in a CLIO with 17" wheels is better than the 18" but most people prefer the look of the 18s. Quote
crownleyian Posted 12, August 2015 Report Posted 12, August 2015 My wife just purchased a Clio RS 200 Cup and it is as firm as my 265. But it's fine for daily use. Quote
No152 Posted 12, August 2015 Report Posted 12, August 2015 My SWMBO drives the Clio Cup as a daily driver, and loves it. No issues at all (apart from the occasional speeding fine ). Quote
Sidekick Posted 13, August 2015 Author Report Posted 13, August 2015 Ok so I just put my deposit on the Clio R.S Sport ???? I can't wait to pick it up! 2 Quote

chris043 Posted 13, August 2015 Report Posted 13, August 2015 You will be very happy!!! Well done! What colour did you decide upon? Liquid yellow I bet.... Quote
Sidekick Posted 13, August 2015 Author Report Posted 13, August 2015 Haha yes I got the liquid yellow ???? however I loved all the colours tbh. But the yellow is sweet as ☺️ Quote
Alphy9250 Posted 16, August 2015 Report Posted 16, August 2015 I just locked in my new 2015 Clio Cup and the DP at Peter Warren did me a better deal on it that was better than any second hand or demos around. Just talk to your dealer. They'll look after you. Sent from my SM-G920I using Tapatalk Quote
