scott606 Posted 28, December 2014 Report Share Posted 28, December 2014 Hi all out there. I take possession of my Clio A&D tomorrow (can't wait) and can anyone assist with the proper care of the paint for this car. Also any PROVEN performance mods would be helpful also. Please keep me posted of any club runs in / from Sydney and any track days also, thanks Scott.
m0nty Posted 28, December 2014 Report Share Posted 28, December 2014 Proven performance mods.... driving instruction. Everything else on a 200 is bling. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Numbnut Posted 28, December 2014 Report Share Posted 28, December 2014 Akrapovic exhaust is a proven performance mod.
GEEWIZZ Posted 28, December 2014 Report Share Posted 28, December 2014 Nice pick up. Is it red or grey? I use Dr. Beasley's on my A&D. Beyond sealing it every few months, the matte paint is very easy to take care of. https://www.carcareproducts.com.au/prod ... ection_kit
AnthB Posted 1, January 2015 Report Share Posted 1, January 2015 Welcome, and enjoy the car, Hope it is all clear skies and open roads while in your possession. They are heaps of fun
xx777 Posted 1, January 2015 Report Share Posted 1, January 2015 Great car, there's a few current and ex Angel and Demon owners here that will be happy to answer any questions you may have!
JS200 Posted 2, January 2015 Report Share Posted 2, January 2015 G,day Scott. The A&D is the best spec'd 200 released here, good choice. Plenty of worthwhile upgrades available if you know what your doing... exhaust, headers, tune, suspension, brake pads & lines, tyres, mounts, weight loss, etc. Great car the 200/197 but far from perfect & like all cars there are always production compromises that can be improved upon. Go on http://www.clio197.net & you'll find much more useful/knowledgable Clio III info than on here.
superfly77 Posted 2, January 2015 Report Share Posted 2, January 2015 For cleaning products at a reasonable price http://www.chemguys.com.au/ For upgrades http://www.k-tecracing.com/ http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/ My personal view is to go the lighter route rather than additional power. I'm personally looking for a light weight pulley kit. Did you pick up the one for sale in Zetland NSW? Do you mind me asking how much as I'm watching the market foe A&Ds Thanks
Numbnut Posted 2, January 2015 Report Share Posted 2, January 2015 I'm personally looking for a light weight pulley kit. Lightweight crank pulley - http://www.clio197.net/forum/showthread.php?46218-Renault-Sport-Clio-197-200-lightweight-crank-pulley I bought one, just need to install it. Sorry for the thread hijack
Deb Posted 5, January 2015 Report Share Posted 5, January 2015 Welcome! Great choice of car For cleaning I use the Nanolex matte paint kit from Car Care Products and I find it easy to care for. What number/colour is the car so we can add it to the register?
xx777 Posted 5, January 2015 Report Share Posted 5, January 2015 Only hassle I had with the paint on mine was 'fallout' or miscellaneous sticky black stuff. Having recently discovered Gyeon Iron and understanding it's awesomeness I'd keep it in the back of your mind in case you get little spots of black in the matte paint that are tricky to remove. scott606 Posted 8, January 2015 Author Report Share Posted 8, January 2015 Hi Guys, Thank you all for the informative replies re cleaning products and upgrades. Superfly - yes I did pick up the one from Zetland - I was also watching it for a while, I always find that people who are advertising before Christmas and still have it sitting there for a while get keen to do a deal - I picked it up for $24K
exsight Posted 10, January 2015 Report Share Posted 10, January 2015 Best cleaning product for Clio matte paint is Swissvax opaque range, kit with everything you need is a little over $200, lasts me about a year, it's got pre cleaner, opaque wax, cloth and instant cleaner. Rad stuff.
m0nty Posted 12, January 2015 Report Share Posted 12, January 2015 Akrapovic exhaust is a proven performance mod. It's an audio enhancement mod, not that there's anything wrong with that.
apple3337 Posted 12, January 2015 Report Share Posted 12, January 2015 Clio 200 is great from the factory! I don't know why people feel the need to change it. I'd just enjoy it for what it is.
