Verve Posted 4, March 2006 Report Share Posted 4, March 2006 Thought that this thread was long overdue. Please feel free to post your preferred service location - dealer or independent specialist. Hopefully should be a good national resource! Could I suggest to those posting that your subject line include City or area, Vehicle type (if relevant - eg 172 or 225) and if relevant the speciality (eg "non-warranty service" or "ICE" or "panel beating" etc) to make it easier for everyone to quickly skim through the posts and find those relevant to them ........ He is a fastatic machanic and has a true love for all French cars. Very good rates as well. He took care of my baby before I had to move and if I ever move back to Brisbane, he shall take care of it once again!
Moosey Posted 9, March 2006 Author Report Share Posted 9, March 2006 Come on guys and girls! We all complain about having to answer the same q's over and over again for the newbs - let's get this list happening.
RSC172 Posted 9, March 2006 Report Share Posted 9, March 2006 Carwright Euro on the Gold Coast. They're the only Renault dealer on the coast, but are miles ahead of the previous dealer, and seems the same way with some of the other dealers mentioned on here. Go GC!!! justinb Posted 9, March 2006 Report Share Posted 9, March 2006 Pacific Motors Pymble does all my general, every 10,000km servicing. They have the technology to plug into the ECU and read codes etc, and are already Renault aware (thanks to my car) and are good at pointing out & documenting warranty issues. http://www.pacificmotors.biz Justin
Aitch Posted 9, May 2006 Report Share Posted 9, May 2006 My series 1 must be the most serviced / least mileage example. 5 years old in July. 17,800kms (nearly) I suppose it needs a new timing belt because of the time, certainly not the distance. Original battery blew last week. Where is the best place near the Inner West (Sydney) for the 5 year service? I've had nothing but bad Service from RD Leichhardt and CC Brookvale, no way it's ever going back to either of them.

I'm looking to do that belt work soon too, would be cool to negotiate a bargain with multiple renaults, from a reliable service shop. I'd like to support a smaller business if possible. Let us know if you decide on a mechanic and I'll do the same. Maybe when speaking with them, mention that you could bring in a few of the same cars as more business if they'll cut a deal. Aitch Posted 29, May 2006 Report Share Posted 29, May 2006 Balmain European Car Repairs looking at a price for the 100K service / 5 years / Timing belt replacement for me today. These guys are German, specialize in VW's / Audis. Recently did a clutch for a mate on a Golf VR6 for $900. They have been looking after my wife's '93 Audi 80 V6 for years and do a great job for a good price. Hopefully the news is good. I finally cracked 18K Kms on the weekend, at that rate the timing belt would get replaced in 2028 for 100K Kms.

wade Posted 8, August 2006 Report Share Posted 8, August 2006 I'll post the obvious one Waitara Renault (nth of Hornsby) - I've got a 2004 172 Guys there really seem to know their stuff. When you describe a problem they usually say "that sound like the ....." and in my case they were right. The guy who serviced my car was there in the morning when I dropped it off before work and we went for a drive, and he was still there when I picked it up after work (I work in the CBD) and had waited for me to discuss what had happened with the car and answer any questions I had. Very happy with the service. That being said it's a long way away and it's not the cheapest. (however for me it's worth the travel for the peace of mind - I live near hurstville). lalala130878 Posted 6, April 2009 Report Share Posted 6, April 2009 For the Westies in Sydney. Collier @ Granville specialises in French Cars and they have been around for 30 odd years. Took my 172 MkII for a 60K service and they are very professional. They also do tune ups for track cars. Price is reasonable.
