e.Sport Posted 1, May 2007 Report Share Posted 1, May 2007 There have been some posts throughout OzRS regarding DIY So thought i'd post up the this one. http://www.fubarnet.com/index.html Rather extensive primarily the 172 MkI, but care should be taken with the 172/182 MkII variants. Aitch Posted 2, May 2007 Report Share Posted 2, May 2007 Very handy. Shame the stock airbox and exhaust aren't covered, they're quite different on the Mk1s, haven't ever found much out about them.

Aitch Posted 2, May 2007 Report Share Posted 2, May 2007 Exactly what I thought after digging around with a torch for an hour yesterday. Seems to me the exhaust is pretty special too. With a high-flow cat, it seems to be the business already.

Aitch Posted 16, March 2010 Report Share Posted 16, March 2010 I saved all that stuff off, but the links as above^ should take you there. The actual surface area of the Ph1 air-filter is huge compared to Ph2, being a cylinder (like a good-sized table lamp), not just a panel. The ph2 changes, acoustic valve etc seem to be for emissions, sound, more than performance. I've always been keen to mod one a Ph1 box with a bigger feed, but not like there are many around to play with and not going to risk my own. Sound very noice with a Green Cotton filter in too. Lovely howl at revs. The cat is the big obstruction in a Ph1. Bum-omerter seems to indicate good things with 100 cell cat + K-Tec Stealth. cooper Posted 22, March 2010 Report Share Posted 22, March 2010 doubt it would pass the emissions test
griffyn Posted 22, March 2010 Report Share Posted 22, March 2010 So do I, but suspect it's not the 100-cell part that makes it illegal. Just seeking clarification.
