Anto Posted 18, June 2022 Report Share Posted 18, June 2022 Hey guys, today went to fill up and the fuel flap on my Clio hatch 2016 won’t open. Looked around on internet and found a few videos but can’t find the inner manual lever and tried the screwdrivers in the gap trick. Might be a solanoid? Any ideas other than going to Renault and getting ripped off?! Obviously a common problem… This is such a bad design on an otherwise great car! chuckovski Posted 18, June 2022 Report Share Posted 18, June 2022 When you've said you have looked for the inner lever, you've removed the lining in the boot?
Anto Posted 18, June 2022 Author Report Share Posted 18, June 2022 Yes, removed the liner inside wall of boot but couldn’t find anything which looked like it was connected to the fuel cap area.
63x1092 Posted 18, June 2022 Report Share Posted 18, June 2022 You gain access to remove fuel flap under the wheel arch liner and it all makes more sense when you look up in there. The solenoid itself is attached and can be seen when you remove the boot side wall liner but you get a better understanding of it all if you remove the fuel flap from above the wheel liner.
