Verena Posted 7, June 2021 Report Share Posted 7, June 2021 Hi Looking at buying a 2004 Clio for my daughter as a first car. It has 90k and has service history. Are they reliable? Are the service, maintenance, spare parts or repairs expensive due to being a European car? Any other feedback would be appreciated Thank you in advance
chuckovski Posted 8, June 2021 Report Share Posted 8, June 2021 You'd have to be more specific about the model etc

If you go to the right specialist maintenance costs will be okay. Also helps with question 1 around reliability. Spare parts availability actually isn’t too bad given the Renault-Nissan tie up My 2005 Clio 2 has had 2 unscheduled maintenance items over 4 years and 20k km. One I had to tow, the second I could drive to the garage only because it was very close. Known problems, but I don’t mind a bit of unreliability because the car does certain things very well otherwise So these cars are reliable enough to be “daily drivers”, but if you want the most hassle free motoring look elsewhere Edited 8, June 2021 by japarn
