Mcbane Posted 8, September 2013 Report Share Posted 8, September 2013 Hi all, I'm about to be in the market for a RS265 and when I visited the dealership the other day the salesman mentioned a new limited edition (yes yet another!) coming out soon I think he called it the RS265 Gendarme. He said we aren't getting the latest Redbull although its the same dark blue colour and only for Australia. Does anyone know what spec it will be? I quite liked the GT220 but there's no way I could live with the 2 tone leather what were they thinking there with the white? One last question have many of you put a lot of km's up on your RS I'll do around 120,000 in 3 years so interested in your thoughts. Thanks
griffyn Posted 9, September 2013 Report Share Posted 9, September 2013 Welcome, McBane. High ks are fine if the servicing is kept up. We've got a Clio with 175,000 and a Megane with 145,000 on the dials and they're still going strong Happy shopping, and hope you're an owner soon! bozz Posted 9, September 2013 Report Share Posted 9, September 2013 Hey Mcbane, I've put nearly 87K on my 2011 250 in 26 months, and not a rattle or mechanical issue to be had, except for a 2 day visit to the workshop for a new fuel pump (covered under warranty). Scheduled services and a bit of extra tlc will see you right.
Mcbane Posted 9, September 2013 Author Report Share Posted 9, September 2013 Thanks guys I buy toys to use and, like my Ducati, put a lot of kms on them so its encouraging to hear some of you are piling on the kms without any issues. whitbomb07 Posted 10, September 2013 Report Share Posted 10, September 2013 One last question have many of you put a lot of km's up on your RS I'll do around 120,000 in 3 years so interested in your thoughts. Thanks My 265 8:08 turns one year old on Friday and is also booked in for it's 40,000km that day. Nothing major to report, has been a great 40,000kms. I might start slowing down a little probably be at 100,000 by the time 3 years is up. Regards Daniel
Dutchie Posted 13, September 2013 Report Share Posted 13, September 2013 I am driving RS models for the last 17 years and I had never any major issues with them. My 1993 Clio 18.16v had 230.000 km on the clock when I sold it and was still going strong So stay calm and don't panick
Mcbane Posted 6, October 2013 Author Report Share Posted 6, October 2013 I went to look at the new Golf GTI the other day and the salesman drives a big butt Megane RS so we spent more time talking about his car. Should I take that as a sign the universe thinks I should get the RS265? lol
harbo Posted 6, October 2013 Report Share Posted 6, October 2013 Yes. And you will not regret it. Get recaros but skip on the 19 inch wheels would be my tip!
griffyn Posted 7, October 2013 Report Share Posted 7, October 2013 Renaults are addictive. Buy the Golf, that way you won't have any emotional attachment, your passengers will be comfortable, and you'll not feel special each and every time you drive it.... maybe you should buy the Megane
