  1. Yeah, I'll take the last of the cards if they're not already taken, but only if postage is OK, because I'm pretty busy atm unfortunately. Cheers, Scott.
  2. Are they told at sign-up time? Because they wont read this. Otherwise, they'll be deleted before they have the chance. I reckon it should say it on the sign-up page, because people hardly ever read that 'confirmation' email.
  3. That only happens to me if I use the back button (of course, because it's not refreshing the page). As soon as I hit refresh, it's fine. What is so annoying for me is that when the browser is closed, the threads are all marked as read for some reason. It doesnt happen on all phpbb boards... There's several that I read that don't do it. Also, why does it mark them as read? Even if the session isn't ended properly, there doesnt seem to be any reason for doing it. I would have thought that it would record the read/unread as it goes, or at worst, if the session was not ended properly, then it would just fail to record the threads that had been read in that session. I dunno...
  4. Why don't we implement something to stop this, rather than you guys constantly having to trawl thru and attempt to find fakes? Lots of things have been suggested so far. How about this one... it's easy to install, not too annoying for new (legit) users, it's free and it doesnt require maintenance. http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?t=435702 Cheers, Scott.
  5. lol wtf? I asked different people 3 or 4 times over the past few months! Everyone told me to ask Moosey. In fact, you told me to ask moosey last time I asked you! In fact, I was getting ready to print my own :-\ I wonder what happened to my last set of cards? The last few I had (from the first batch we printed ages ago) were in my camera back when it was nicked! How much are the stickers? Gimme!
  6. Is there anyone other than me that wants a new set of OzRS cards?
  7. I've never really understood the obsession some people have with their post count... it's not like it has any bearing on how good anyone's posts are! I'm a member of another forum that is constantly flooded with bullsh*t, by it's own members, because they just *have* to get their post counts up for some reason. I like that system that has two little links and a number next to everyone's name on their post... you can click to say their post is sh*t, and you can click to say their post is good. The number next to their name (like on ours, where it says 'regulier, veteran' etc) is an indication of how many times people have clicked 'good' or 'bad' about your posts. I guess it doesnt matter what system is there really... people will abuse it... so in the end, I think it's best just to ignore it lol
  8. This site should help you all out... http://www.acronymfinder.com/
  9. Yeah, I agree, but I'm not the ones that have to do the work, so I guess it's not my place to say. Anyhow, Invision PowerBoard (which I reckon is really nice) is US$149... but then, no matter what the software is, someone has to invest the time to set it all up At least it's a once-off though...
  10. So is it set up now so that guest members can only see 'wanted', 'for sale' and 'faq'? I think they should be able to browse everything but not post... Otherwise, people aren't going to know what's actually here... and sometimes it will look (to newbs) like there's nothing on the site, because they're all hidden and invisible. I think we should encourage people to join if we can. Are any of the options I suggested possible with phpbb? That also alleviates the work that the admins have to do.
  11. And how about this member that just joined up http://www.ozrenaultsport.com/forum/pro ... de19206347
  12. PS: Anyone interested in cheap V!agra or Rx drugs? PPS: Dish, please don't ban me... it was just a joke lol
  13. Hi Admin folks (and others that might be interested!), I dont know if phpbb has any kind of facility to implement this scheme, but I signed up to another forum recently that had a good spam-proofing method... Basically, you had to achieve a post count of 10 before you could post to any forum section except one. The way it works is that people with a post count of 10 or less are restricted to a single forum section. There's a forum section just for newbies that has 10 threads in it, and no new threads can be started there... New members just click each one, post 'test' or some other bit of junk, and do the same for each one. When their post count reaches 10, they're able to post anywhere. That way, no spam bots can get through. Any interest in that? I reckon maybe reduce it to 5 or something becuause 10 was a bit of a pain. They also organise it so you cant post twice in less than 10 minutes to the same thread, or it joins your last few posts into one, which is also a pain in the a***. They also have some really nice forum software called Invision Power Board (v2.1.7). If anyone is interested in checking it out, it's the Australian Digital TV Forums: http://www.dtvforum.info/
  14. Yeah, I left a note on the blue-and-yellow one a while back telling them about the forums, but they never checked in... guess they're not interested. Good to see you looked us up though! Welcome to the forums Yeah, I see it at work every day lol! I also saw it up on the display stand at oakleigh every time i went past, before it was sold... I actually thought it was a promo vehicle for that dealership, since they'd obviously had the decals done especially. I think it looks pretty good... plus, it's unique. Scott.
