Dock Posted 22, September 2018 Report Share Posted 22, September 2018 (edited) Hello All This is my first Renault. I picked it up for a good price and it’s in great nick. I’m in Melbourne. Plans are to stage 1 tune, 18 inch Cup or XR5 wheels’ , short shift and Eibach springs. Do I need to upgrade the shocks too ? Any advice, contacts for parts etc would be much appreciated. No decent pics yet but it looks like this. Paul Edited 22, September 2018 by Dock Spelling
Bingle Posted 22, September 2018 Report Share Posted 22, September 2018 Congratulations and welcome Dock. Aftermarket lowering springs are not usually a performance upgrade, more cosmetic. Which is fine if it’s what you want. That being the case, I wouldn’t bother replacing dampers if the originals are still good.
handyman0708 Posted 23, September 2018 Report Share Posted 23, September 2018 (edited) Do all your engine mounts sooner rather than later unless 100% sure they are good. Also check steering rack ends. A common problem. If going for xr5 rims make sure to get the 60.1 mm to 64.3mm hub centric spacer rings to ensure good fit- much less likely to cause steering vibrations. You could consider the Ford rs 19’s as well. Rare but do come up from time to time. Edited 23, September 2018 by handyman0708
