Hi guys looking at two rs265’s at the moment one being a 2013 Cup+ and one a 2012 rb7. This will be my first Renault and my first own car so pretty excited but in Townsville there is nothing for sale so it’s a big journey to see these cars would love some advice!

The Rb8 (RedBull) is a nice car if its kept original. The wrap is fine but the Redbull decals are gone and these are $2700 to replace.

The second car is the same as mine and i find the seats much more comfortable than the recaros.

The Oyster grey is a great colour.

Even though it has more mileage check to see that the timing belt has been done.

My pick the RS265 Cup+

Hi

Can't comment on either of those cars but i feel your pain about no RS for sale in Townsville. They vary rarely become available.

There are a few around however so you could leave notes on windscreens.

There is a grey trophy RS250 and a liquid yellow cup RS265 in Idalia. A black cup RS250 i see in the city all the time. Also see yellow trophy RS250 coming from the direction of Laverack Barracks.

I purchased my first (RS250) as an ex demonstrator through Parry Euro and got lucky with my RS265 as it was on consignment at a car yard at the exact time i was looking for a new car.

So i guess your choices are either nag some current owners in Townsville or road trip around the country.

Good Luck

I’m leaning towards the cup+ As well. The owner is member of Qld Renault club and seems like a pretty meticulous owner. It’s had the timing and water pump done recently and it’s got paint and interior protection which is a huge bonus. Don’t mind the sunroof either 😛

thanks for the response!

Hi gjuu,

That is quite lucky haha I guess my timing just isn’t quite right. I will have to have a look around and see what I can find. Have you seen any for sale in recent times? On a separate note, how have you found your 265?

Thanks for the response !

I prefer the "face" of the RS250 - i not a fan of the big diamond face. But i definitely prefer the Liquid Yellow of the RS265 to the normal yellow of my RS250. Performance wise there is not a big difference on the daily commute.

You will be very happy with either.

Check for shudder when releasing the clutch pedal, look for bubbles in the oil (unlikely) and check if the timing belt has been replaced yet. If the timing belt hasn't been replaced I would ask the seller to organise it before sale. Or take it to a RS specialist like Colliers in Sydney or Auto Paris if buying from Melbourne.
