Pgibson Posted 30, September 2017 Report Share Posted 30, September 2017 Hi all. I have just bought a 2006 225 Megane as per previous thread. I took it out of the garage earlier and left it ticking over to warm up, noticed a small bit of steam coming from the grill, thought nothing of it. Took it for a gentle 5k drive to get used to it, got home and parked in the garage. A few hours later took out of the garage again, noticed 2 puddles on the floor, front passenger side. Looked underneath and still dripping slightly, could see it dripping from the wishbone and from the front of the still area. I wasn't sure if it was something dripping onto the plastic wheel arch cover, and running down. Is there anything in that area that could leak? I'm a bit disappointed, only got the car on Wednesday.. Cheers
tripleturbo Posted 30, September 2017 Report Share Posted 30, September 2017 Pgibson, Check the washer bottle ( right at the bottom where the pipe feeds from) Or the housing of the bottle? Hope this helps.
Pgibson Posted 30, September 2017 Author Report Share Posted 30, September 2017 Will do, not at home with it at the moment. Is it in drivers side or passenger side?
Pgibson Posted 30, September 2017 Author Report Share Posted 30, September 2017 So got home and jacked it up, took wheel off and removed wheel arch shroud. I can see a pipe, which looks to be an overflow pipe if sorts, and water Is dripping out. Does anyone know the source, is it blocked somewhere? Picture too big for a moment. chris043 Posted 2, October 2017 Report Share Posted 2, October 2017 (edited) The pipe certainly looks like it is an overflow pipe for something. Did you have the airconditioning on whilst driving? If so it could be just normal overflow after you stop and nothing to worry about. If you had the air on but unsure if this is the problem try driving it with the air off and see if it still drips.... If it still drips check to see if the plastic radiator bottle water level is over the 'full' mark as this can cause water to run out of the overflow pipe when it expands after driving. Check it when the engine is hot. Edited 2, October 2017 by chris043
