New 172 Phase 1 Owner

Hi everybody

 

Just bought a Phase 1 Clio 172 No. 47/85 and thought I would join the forums to see what advice I could find. I even managed to find some pictures the original owner of the car uploaded when he was selling it which I thought was quite interesting. Hopefully I can make it to a Sydney drive day soon and introduce myself.

Welcome! #47 has been passed around a bit in the past couple of years, almost got it for myself a while ago but hopefully you're here to give it a good loving home at long last.

Just bought a Phase 1 Clio 172 No. 47/85 and thought I would join the forums to see what advice I could find.

 

 

 

1) Check the belts (cam and aux) have been done. They expire on age as well as distance. If they haven't been done then do them asap.

 

2) Put some good tyres on the car.  The good news is that tyre choice in 15 inch is abundant and cheap. Michelin PS3s are very good for daily driver in both dry and wet (I think everybody will agree on that). Many choices for stickier rubber as well, current choice is Bridgestone RE003.

 

3) Find some good roads and enjoy the car.
