I have just deleted a post by "klarynxx" that was linked to a bogus CNN site which would send the following file and a Trojan down the line to here...

C:\Documents and Settings\[user name]\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\O1QZ8TIZ\xpladv433[1].wmf

This file can be deleted, but please go to the following links for info about the Trojan if you may have clicked on the link without your anti-virus program having picked it up...

http://www.trendmicro.com/vinfo/virusencyclo/default5.asp?VName=EXPL_WMF.GEN

http://www.trendmicro.com/vinfo/virusencyclo/default5.asp?VName=TROJ_NASCENE.D

Peeps, could I suggest that you please notify at least one of the admins via a PM/email immediately upon seeing that sort of activity. This prick has been deleted. A big thanks to D82 for the heads up.

Also, "frankern" has been terminated (thanks walkie86).

Weren't we looking at one of those "image" thingos that when you register ask you to type in

the number shown in the field..?? That would stop bots but klarynxx may not have been a bot

and that sort of attack would be very hard to stop without requiring an admin person to

check and allow every registration.

I think Paul was looking into the random code thing, but as Bio noted, klarynxx was not a bot. It was specifically placed in the OT section and seemed legit...

Perhaps paid membership is the only way to go!

No no, I'm kidding!!!
