  1. And if not you only need to wait a month or two for a part from Italy 😂. You'd seriously think they'd have some stock in Oz and if not it should take max a week or two.
  2. Sounds like you were super unlucky and got a bad one. I can see why you'd fall for one, they look beautiful, especially from the rear (IMHO) and the interior looks pretty special as well. A lot of car for your money second hand, in a very different way to the Megane. Just saw a 2014 for $17k. What are they like $50k new, now that's depreciation!
  3. First time I've heard that, I thought all the 265s had a proximity key? Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  4. Touché! Was thinking the same myself as I typed it! I've only ever owned Japanese cars myself so I guess that's where I was coming from
  5. Lol, it's not for nothing that Italian cars are known for their quirkiness then!
  6. @KeepItLow - shocking service from Renault and a few issues but nothing too scary which is good to hear. Can't believe they fobbed you off about the oil leak, that's outrageous. I've only heard good things about Renotech, sounds like they are worth the drive to Sydney for us Canberrans! Your members ride topic is a great read, you've had some interesting cars! I considered an Alfa Guiletta QV as well (very cheap, $15k for a 2012 at a dealer with only 48,000kms) and I thought Alfa had improved reliability wise but sounds like that wasn't your experience.
  7. Great idea with Renotech, shame that didn't work out. Before kids I would have agreed with you about rear seats, hardly used them for years. Just seen the Ghosn news, sounds like he's been a very naughty boy! Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  8. ttimbo where do you take the Trophy R for servicing? Beautiful car by the way but a little over budget and the lack of rear seats could be a problem! Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  9. What about electronics? What did you have warranty issues with on yours? Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  10. That's a real pity, Belconnen would have been perfect for me! "If cared for" is the key thing with any car and especially a performance car. I haven't heard many bad things about the Meg RS which has surprised me based on my previous (probably outdated and misguided) opinion of French cars! Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  11. Also later year cars of the same model tend to have less issues as known issues have often been addressed by then. Not sure if that's the case with the Megs? Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  12. That's worth knowing and I was just thinking the $10k saved in depreciation could be used towards repair bills. Not sure if there are any decent RS specialists in Canberra though (probably one for a separate post I guess) Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  13. Hmmm thanks all for the suggestions, certainly food for thought. My concern with buying an older model would be a higher chance of things going wrong, I'd be using it as my daily driver and just want to get out and enjoy the car. I'm not mechanically minded and don't have the time to do any work on it myself if things do go wrong. Not really into modding but if the exhaust isn't loud enough then resonator delete sounds like it is worth doing.
  14. You're not wrong, could be a good deal for someone, I'm just not keen on the look of the RB models. Thanks for the heads up though!
  15. Couldn't agree more, looks more coupe than hatch, and I like that.
