maxtwee Posted 2, February 2007 Report Share Posted 2, February 2007 Tried to use my key fob today and nothing! So I opened it up and found the switch had detached itself from the circuit board. 2 seconds with a soldering iron and voila! Works again! (Make sure the battery is removed first) split key open up remove from seal switch floating free back in place soldered
Mase Posted 2, February 2007 Report Share Posted 2, February 2007 Nice work! Good piccy's. I've dropped mine a few times and she ceased to verk so I slid off the cover and re-seated the batt and away it went..which was a relief. Amazing how the switch came free. Likely was a dry joint all the time unless the legs broke off the switch mech?
Aitch Posted 3, February 2007 Report Share Posted 3, February 2007 Only one of my keys will start the car (but wont open it). The plastic legs that support the battery have snapped off so no circuit. Other one opens the car (but wont start it) A new head is $170, I ordered on this morning (ouch).
