  1. New Account - Considering Options

I get that, I ended up missing the tinkering/working on car factor that I had with my last BMW so ended up buying a Clio to play with and take to the track. Didn't want to mess with the 5 year warranty in the end. I don't miss RWD as the Megane is just that capable. I do miss power oversteer though, a lot. If you have a bike as well that may already fill that tinkering segment?
  2. New Account - Considering Options

I was in the same position as you but also considering the current shape WRX with the FA engine. The FA engine was a much more refined option but at the end of the day I just couldn't see myself in one as much as I wanted to like it. Ended up test driving the Megane without no intention of buying one and fell in love. My WRX wouldn't have stayed stock either, my Megane has (save for a resonator delete).
  3. Famous Car Insurance Experience

Famous will cover up to 10k for an extra premium iirc, better than nothing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Famous Car Insurance Experience

Haven't made a claim with them yet, but the customer service had been good so far. Also, they don't do third party. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Red Pinstripes On Wheels?

You can re-production red pack sticker from here: https://www.jestercreation.fr/megane-2012-c2x20089023 No idea what the quality is like or what the cost is for genuine stickers is from Renault AU (I know the pricing for Trophy stripes is cray cray). Not sure if this is "No, no one has done it" or "No, don't do it". You're either wrong, or offering an opinion that wasn't asked for.
  6. I find the Torque Pro delays to be the main let down. Has been a while since I used it though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Club Registration

From memory there's stipulations on usage for a UVP? Ie. Only for transport from place of purchase-home or to mechanic and not after a certain time. Worth looking into. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Rs275 Stereo And Exhaust

I notice more snaps on Mobil and United fuel, Less on shell. Probably placebo though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Agree, I have a set of black plates to go on, just need to pull them off the old e46. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Picked her up today and just spent the last 3 hours driving my favourite back roads. Yep, I like this car! I also really like the silver despite my reservations. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Rs265 Newbie.

Already put a deposit down on one my friend. 7,000km, with over 4 years warranty left, hopefully pick it up this weekend. Starting to get excited about the car. Hoping to meet some Vic members at the drive day next weekend.
  13. Rs265 Newbie.

Hi everyone, I've been searching on and off for a new car for about year now and have struggled to find something to replace my E46 328ci. I then ended up writing off the E46 so was pushed into finding something. The short list was: Mk7 GTI - Too old man and very dark interior, but I would have loved dsg. Scirocco - getting a little old in my price range Focus St - perfect, just couldn't get comfortable in the interior WRX - too much road noise, felt big and awkward and clutch had no feedback at all So I finally drove an RS yesterday and fell in love. Not as quick as some of the others, but feeling the diff put the power down out of a tight turn was pretty special along with the exhaust pops and bangs. Ended up putting a deposit down on a 265 in silver, not my first choice in colour but I think it will grow on me with a few touches. I still have some reservations about the car, mainly resale and reliability (we've had renaults in the family before). But hopefully the driving experience makes up for it. Look forward to learning more and hopefully meeting some of you at an event soon. Cheers Jack
