key fob button not working

Tried to use my key fob today and nothing! :o

So I opened it up and found the switch had detached itself from the circuit board.

2 seconds with a soldering iron and voila! Works again! :D

(Make sure the battery is removed first)

Nice work! Good piccy's.

I've dropped mine a few times and she ceased to verk so I slid off the cover and re-seated the batt and away it went..which was a relief. Amazing how the switch came free. Likely was a dry joint all the time unless the legs broke off the switch mech?

Only one of my keys will start the car (but wont open it).

The plastic legs that support the battery have snapped off so no circuit.

Other one opens the car (but wont start it)

A new head is $170, I ordered on this morning (ouch).

hey aitch,

I got quoted 230 bucks for the key fob thing, and my local renault dealer told me that was them giving me a good price. who gave you one for 170, and did that include getting it coded to your car?
