Clio Rs Restores The Fun Of Driving!

Hi ladies and gents; I am a new member from Melbourne. I've previously owned a Clio 182 from new which was an awesome car. I regularly travel to Europe and lease cars for the duration. Last year I had a Clio RS 200 which re-ignited my passion for hot hatches. As a consequence I've just purchased a secondhand Clio 3 RS, Angel and Demon edition out of Sydney. It has done minimal K's, has a lot of mods and is in immaculate condition. The best part was driving it back to Melbourne which required a stop every few kilometres so I could accelerate back up to freeway speed and listen to the Akrapovic exhaust crackling out the back. I am an old Mini racer and the handling is awesome and the steering sublime. This car just puts a smile on my face.....! I've owned many, many cars and have also just taken delivery of a new Audi RS3 which is simply a computer on wheels in comparison. I previously owned a couple of Maserati Gransport's and while they were impressive grand tourer's with an engine note to die for, they can't match the fun of the Renault.

Welcome and congrats! That was a great buy...well done.

See you on a drive day. There's one coming up in August. See the social events section.

So which car is the daily?

Welcome. A comment that is not uncommon from people on the forum.  A great car that you'll enjoy. Interesting, given the other cars you've experienced. I know I enjoy driving my MY12 Meg III whenever I take it out. It reintroduced a great 'fun factor' for me that I missed far too long. Get involved with the drive and track days with the other forum members, if you feel so inclined, it makes the experience even better if you share with like minded, great people. Enjoy!

Welcome to the forum and great buy with that Angel.  Surely one of the best examples in Aus.

It will be interesting to see how you compare over time between the Audi and the Clio.  Very different power delivery, and one of the most graphic examples there can be of "less is actually more"...  Or what you might call the "RS Phenomenon"...    Lots of us on this forum have had much more powerful cars but find there is a special "something" in the overall experience of the RS cars that delivers the enjoyment missing in those more powerful cars.

Look forward to reading about your impressions.
