  1. I have a spare seat base for sale — just has minor wear. Might be slightly different trim to the R27 though (and it just needs a little clean, too)
  2. I haven't checked WA but, having purchased 3 cars from Melb in the past few years, there is no issue for the seller to leave the plates on and for you to hand in the plates when you register the car in WA, which -- in other states -- must be within 30 days of its arrival in the state (very often honoured in the breach). You can also claim the unused rego back from VicRoads. In the ACT, unregistered vehicle permits are a complete PiTA because while you can get them for 7 days, they're "point-to-point" permits, ie, if you have to go to one location for an inspection and there are problems, you'll need another permit to take the car to the rectification workshop...and possibly a third if re-inspection is required. So, it's much better to get the car still registered in Vic with plates on. Ask the seller to delay advising disposal to VicRoads until you are all ready to transfer the rego in WA. In the ACT, there is also a mandatory vehicle ID inspection for interstate vehicles that are less than 10 years old. Again, check WA requirements. If this is needed, then you'll also want to be in possession of the original certificate of registration with completed copy of notice of disposal by the seller, as well a Bill of Sale detailing the vehicle VIN, engine number, seller's identity and address including licence number and all your details as purchaser. This is all to prevent "re-birthing" apparently....🙄 Hope this helps
  3. Pre-Covid, e-go — see my post above
  4. Try https://www.jestercreation.fr/ for the stripes. I’m sure they can create them if they don’t have them stock. Some form of FRB striping might look good 🤷‍♂️
  5. Sad to hear this, but at least you’re (mostly) OK. As others have said, if you have the time, patience and some storage, parting out is the way to go
  6. Yes, indeed, and not much point chewing over the virtues/vices of a Focus ST here (or anywhere — is there a real enthusiasts’ forum for them?) without having driven one. I just can’t recall hearing reading of anyone being in paroxysms of ecstacy after having driven one, Whereas, with the Megane, once you know, you know!
  7. Good in theory, disappointing in practice. Too heavy, with none of the attention to front suspension geometry of the Megane
  8. I've had this before. If you remain interested in it. simply say you can't pay that much but if the dealer arrangement falls through, you're interested. No need to insult him, and if he comes back to you, you'll know immediately he was ...ermm...bullsh!tting!
  9. Why can’t we all get along? 😪 As everyone know, if you can’t decide about Meg 3s….the sensible thing always is to buy a Pug 308 GTi 270 /thread close
  10. Why, oh why...is there no love for the Pugs? A 208 GTi, if you’re on a budget...and one of the 30th anniversary editions or last run-outs in 2018, cos LSD But better than the 208 is the 308 GTi 270 — 200kW, LSD, 1,200kg — everything and bit more that the Clio IV should have been...because manual transmission. But, if you’re Camry inclined (like @Matt205) then the world is your ...er...(bad) oyster 😳

    What a car!

Always important to check AFRs on these off-the-shelf tunes, IMO — and other parameters!

    What a car!

As others have said: good tyres (and you have lots of choice with 18” wheels), refresh the brakes (pads if needed, maybe rotors) with a full fluid flush and bleed
  14. Yes, this is just a tactic to get you to p!ss off. What is the full cost for remediation of the damage? Set up a statement of claim with whatever consumer tribunal handles this stuff in your state, send them a copy before you lodge. Generally, but not always, they’ll pay up to avoid the hassle.
  15. Thanks mate — no PM — what a nice looking RCZ-R! But when I showed it to SWMBO, she gave it the thumbs down

Not working with the latest version of TapaTalk (8.8.9) on ios 14.0.1 🤷‍♂️
  17. Try ...er....cough...the KY solution....water-based personal lubricant [emoji15] This is one of the special “features” of French car ownership [emoji106][emoji6]
  18. ...of course, as a “boss”, the resulting fine and defect will present no problem at all [emoji849]
  19. Welcome and well done! Both good cars (the 200 will be, with some TLC) When I saw the price drop on Gareth’s 200, I was about to relapse, so thankfully you’ve kept me in remission. Beware the addiction, though [emoji23]
  20. Keep the Saab — after all that work and TLC, you’ll quickly regret selling it. Keep an eye out for a good 172, preferably from someone on here. Oh, and the Clio 3 linked by@apple3337 is a bit of a dog...in very many senses [emoji3064]
  21. Talking to people, it seems the write-off decision is done on the numbers: the difference between the car’s insured value and its salvage value. So, if a car has a high insured value (might be the case for a near-new Alfa) it may still have a low salvage value (unfortunately, also likely the case with a near-new Alfa; if the market depreciates them heavily, so do the scrappies). That means, hypothetically, a repairer might be given, say, $30k to use for repairs...which I’m sure he’ll say he can do [emoji22]
  22. Oh! [emoji33] You do need help!! Good thing you’ve joined OzRS You’ve started by admitting you have a problem Next, sell some of those Alfa’s and buy a couple of Clios Better than a Bex and a good lie down! [emoji23][emoji23]
  23. You’ve owned an Alfa, with everything that entails, so you’re clearly a car nut, and most welcome here. Just don’t dwell on the Alfa too much [emoji15][emoji33][emoji23]
  24. Great story — one of perseverance, more than anything. I hope the treatment enables you to have more and more freedom. Meanwhile, seize the day!
