  1. That IS a lovely FRB182... Very interested about the suspension as I'm looking for a few new parts for mine - may I ask what Eibach springs you're running? Sports or Pros? Your opinion on the dampers? I was looking at options and I saw some reports that they didn't fit on the Cups...

    Hello

Not to revive an old greetings thread but I can't think of a better place to post this Bit of a pain in terms of editing, and TBH I have been looking at it far too long that I might have missed something glaringly obvious, but this is the finished product from the shoot that the photo I posted in the OP is from! (shot pre Cupra lip fitment)

    Hello

Thinking back, I really should have suggested it to some of the guys - I didn't bother as I didn't think anyone would be into the idea. Next time! (And cheers again for any tips you gave throughout the day ) Yep you're not wrong with any of that. I seem to remember it was a little harder to find the sort of tyre I was after in that particular size (don't quote me on this but I don't think I could find the RE003s in that size), but it was the first one I was trying for before looking at 195/50s and eventually the 55s I ended up with. The price of the was quite a bit of a hike too, especially for any sort of semi decent rubber with comprehensively good reviews. In the end, I rationalised it as the 003s having quite a square profile, so the extra rubber on the edges almost makes up for that CM lost in width. Not the original tyres, not a 182. I covered this in my last reply haha

    Hello

Small update (and revival) shot after Sunday's drive meet. Peeled off to tackle the Megalong Valley on the way home (SUCH a good run), pic featuring the newly fitted Cupra R splitter courtesty of Buddah.

    Hello To Eveyone

I have a penchant for a dialled-in JCW, any pics?

    Hello

182 Cups run a 205/45r16 if I'm not mistaken. The 195/50r15 would make the overall diameter a bit too small for my liking, and the 55s make it larger by something insignificant as 2mm or a figure around there. I could of course be wrong, but I can tell you I had a few late nights trying to work out the best tyre size haha. The guys at the tyre shop were also a bit sceptical of my calculations, but lining up the old and current wheel/tyre combos, they lined up pretty bang on. The RE003s have a fairly stiff sidewall and so by other's accounts no turn-in or stability has been lost in the process. EDIT: Ok ok, 5mm - here's the calculator I was using. http://www.etyres.co.uk/how-to-change-your-tyre-size/ I know its not the most popular choice, but I didn't want the wheel change to step out of the 2.5% range...

    Hello

Ahh fair enough. Yeah I replaced both at the same time - I thought you'd somehow worn through them rather than because of time

    Hello

10 THOUSAND?!?! Heavens above, I am in danger of hitting that figure in a year's worth of it being my weekender - any particular reason why so frequent? (and thanks ) Thanks! I bit off a bit more than I can chew on that particular shoot - there's an awful lot of compositing, masking and colour correction to make it look like a big money project, but I'll throw a teaser. Oddly enough there aren't too many photos of it on my phone... And PM'd about the lip! One of those uninteresting christmas presents that ends up being quite useful!

    Hello

Thanks! Made the choice to go for 195/55 tyres instead of the usual 50 profiles as they were far closer to the original diameter of the stock wheels and tyres, and I like a beefy sidewall. It changes the overall look of the wheel compared to the usual ones you see on Ph IIs. To be fair it badly needs a drop as it looks a bit rally spec at the moment, but all that is in the pipeline for the future. Thanks! Just had a look at your build - my word, what a little beast! Cheers! That's such a relief to hear, I look forward to many more years Thanks! Really need to take it to a track to reach any sort of limits, but I have been embarrassing a few ham-fistedly-helmed expensive machines up and down my local roads

    Hello

Wow what a warm welcome! Its refreshing to actually be somewhere where you don't have to wait days for a response Thanks for the kind words, I sure hope so! Thanks! I was edging toward the more conventional 'CUP 182' or thereabouts, but I thought I needed to have some French in it. Oddly enough, '18 TWO' was taken while I was thinking about it, so if they are on these pages I'd love to give them a wave! Yew! Yeah my car journo mate (who accompanied me on the leg home) and myself were happily surprised with its road manner on the long haul. Shortish 5th gear is a bit of a downer on the Hume but it's to be expected I guess. I never really gelled with the design of the Cup wheels, and I thought 16in was always a bit big on the car so I was looking for the change. The tyres were actually in real good shape too, but the Speedline Corse's came on Gumtree at a good price and I shamelessly caved. They need some new stickers on them but they are in pretty good knick and the price was right. As for the intake, it was shipped without the instructions, but its a fairly straight forward install just by looking at pics online. With that, the hardest part was actually taking the old air box out. Some of the bolts are downright inaccessible and I started tearing the canvas hose on the snorkel end which feeds air into the box. I stopped there as I wanted to keep everything intact incase I wanted to revert and I took the kit in to my mechanic when I got him to replace some bushings in the front end. In NSW you need an airbox once fitted if you want to be strictly by-the-book (however I've seen several without). My makeshift one has disintegrated, and so I need to look into making/commissioning a new one. Cheers! Would be keen to get in on the meets!

    Hello

Hi All! Bought a Clio RS182 Cup around 6 months ago as a little fun toy to have on the side and it gives me a giggle whenever I go out for a blat. Had to do the timing belt as soon as I bought it (turned out it had never been done and was down to the canvas - finding out after I had driven it from Melbourne to Sydney of course) but other than the whole palava with rear wheel bearings it's been cruisy motoring. According to everyone who's been under it its in good shape and the engine is making healthy power. Bought it with some pretty scratched alloys, so it's now sitting on a set of anthracite 2118s wrapped in RE003s. The only other mod being a KTR intake to give it a little more voice. Joining up just looking to talk cars, as well as receive advice for possible mods to come. Following the herd and on the hunt for a Cupra R front lip, and I think the Whiteline Swaybar are possibly next on the list. This is me and the car on a little photoshoot of mine, shortly after someone poured a whole bucket of water on themselves at 1am on a cold July night Cheers!
