  1. Cool, thought I’d done something wrong, green would of course suggest otherwise, but it never hurts to check! Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. As above, this appeared next to an item for sale, why, and what is it? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I totally agree, with everything you said. If you have to have a paddle shift, what’s wrong with a true, torque converter, non cvt auto? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. If ( not you ) but someone really has to have a paddle shift auto, there’s only one place to look. I’ve driven one, fabulous, looks stunning & back in the uk, to can pick up a 3 year old one with about 8000 miles on the clock for about 27,000 gbp, new, around 110.000gbp! Now what does a torque converter auto DB9 go for over here? I kid you not! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. If you don’t smell burning clutch, when attempting a 3 point turn on a moderately steep slope, it’s wet clutch! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. It was your Skoda comment[emoji41] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. If the gearbox is VAG, make sure it’s wet clutch, not dry, the latter were horrific wear wise. The former are dearer to service, but last heaps longer, if you like driving like life’s a video game! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. To all intents & purposes, they are all RS250’s, until you push the RS button. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. If you want an auto, buy an auto, not an EDC, SWMBO won’t like EDC, no torque converter = sh*tty gear changes, couple that with still firm suspension & things just got worse. Get her manual lessons (with an instructor) it’s a skill all drivers should have! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Really, it depends on the way you like to drive. I came from a FiST into the Meg, & they're totally different animals. Throwing any practical considerations out the window,(generally you have to with a 3 door hatch), the FiST was more fun, more of the time, because it was smaller and consequently more nimble, and had less power/torque. Like a Clio with a blue oval. The Meg RS is, however, very different. Whilst not a huge amount bigger, or heavier, it's a bit more serious in its intentions. It's a car that you cannot ever drive without sticking it in sport mode, it wants to be driven, hard, all the time. And that's where the issue arrives. It has a pretty smooth & quiet engine, one could say "refined". That belies the performance somewhat & could easily end up as, bye bye licence. That said, you learn to drive with your wits, rather than your ears. An RSC3 or 4, will, probably, be more fun, more of the time, but for an outright beast, that will do most of what you want, most of the time, and then exceed all your expectations, when you think you're asking too much of it, then it has to be an RSM3. Add to that, the ride is less choppy than its little sibling and the recaro's are as comfortable as you can get(for sports seats) and it has a manual gearbox, and you'll find it's a great daily driver as well. N.B. Keep digital speedo on at all times, as the analogue is at such a stupid angle, that when you think you're doin 60ks, you're actually doing closer to 70.
  11. There is only one thing to not like(selfishly speaking), that epic new shape, with those fabulous lights, didn't become available in 3 door, with R.S.On the back, before I needed to trade in. Now I have to wait 4 years & 3 months. I really like that blue as well! Congrats!
  12. Front or rear, or both. The front, being struts, you'll need coil Spring compressors. Rears (I don't know much abou meg 2s), if it's torsion beam, the shocks should be easy, 1 nut & bolt at the top, same at the bottom. If it's got IRS, then, same as the front, probably, depending on set up. I'm pretty sure my meg 3 is torsion at the back, if yours is the same, it's standard tool kit stuff. Struts are a different animal. Spring compressors aren't cheap, get it wrong, get hurt, a lot. If you're not confident, get it done for you. You're lucky, you're in Sydney, Renotech is just up the road!
  13. And I'm back. Thanks guys & sorry to make you work on a Saturday!
  14. Two ways you can look at this, 1 Australia no longer supports 2G, therefore your live traffic etc won't happen, (not Renaults fault really),or 2 It's French & consequently a bit cranky on occasion, but still a better car than most, most of the time. And yes, R-Link 2 Cocks up on occasion, but generally comes back properly if you switch off & wait a bit. There are threads on here regarding R-Link & apparently there is a separate R-Link support line, which seems to be, by report, about as much help as a chocolate tea pot! Good luck!
