    RenV6 4 Sale

Do the math and your home work, freight, taxes, duty, values, laws so on. Not worth bringing if you get less in aus though would think you should make more but I’m not sure what values are at present in both countries post covid. By the way, great first post on the forum, though we tend to put which state the vehicle resides in the thread title for a 4 Sale. In your case at present it would read UK, you ain’t gonna get much interest here in aus, mate.
  2. Yep, that’s what I said about the work I’d done on my F1 when the dog was here the other week, keep it stock and you’ll have less troubles. Still disappointed he didn’t offer me $15K like I hinted in the other thread, oh well at least this one’s worth all its money. Good buy, now you gotta come over again to show it off.

    P plate legalities

easy way to do this @Ezra Buy a GT 220 which is P plate legal and has the F4R engine already in it, then just swap out the ecu and keys off a 250 or 265 and it'll go as fast as a RS but it wont handle or stop as a RS, and insurance or cops wouldn't know or could tell its been modified as you've used original Renault parts. If you went the whole hog and changed the suspension, brakes, gearbox, wider stance, front guards so on and put a whole RS front end on it even though they are original parts that suit that make and model, people may notice
  4. You gain access to remove fuel flap under the wheel arch liner and it all makes more sense when you look up in there. The solenoid itself is attached and can be seen when you remove the boot side wall liner but you get a better understanding of it all if you remove the fuel flap from above the wheel liner.
  5. Just get a cover note for insurance and after the two weeks don’t pay it unless you need to make a claim. My understanding is that you can’t get any remaining rego, firstly you’ll need to register in his name and pay stamp duty, but as they aren’t from Vic they can’t register it. Let seller refund plates, then for movement just get a unregistered vehicle permit, roughly $55 1 week, $66 two weeks, 3, $77 and max of 4 weeks for $88. I think WA is the odd state with these laws, so check, but other states say that permit is to be obtained from state that journey starts. So in your case pay $55 to move it around Vic for a week without reg and then one permit in WA Easiest option is to buy unreg, get unreg permit online for a week, fly to Melb and drive home within a week while on a cover note.
  6. Best way to learn manual I found with my two boys when they were 17 was to take them on Reefton runs. By the forth trip I wouldn’t even have to tell them when to brake or what gear to be in. Don’t worry about the cosmetics of your 172 and don’t waste your money on it for two years in case you bin it like most red P plate males, just get it sorted mechanically, belts, brakes, rotors and quality tyres.
  7. Its been two months since his first and only two posts and if we don't see pic's it didn't happen, but then again perhaps it didn't which is why he hasn't posted again.
  8. Parts of France is Ken who is at Alpine Affaire
  9. Typically it’s the top right engine mount and dogbone mount at the bottom middle of engine. Both easy to do at home in the garage. I’ve been told non genuine top mount don’t last as long, can’t comment on the after market special stuff from the UK so I’d get the Renault ones. My tip would be not to pay to have them changed when it’s really quite easy to do at home.
  10. While my kids were in primary school during the summer all they wanted was for me to pick them up in my 1960 Renault Floride convertible that had no seat belts in the back, otherwise it was my series of 172’s and 182’s I’ve had over the years. Tell the Mrs, no, I’m keeping the Clio, end of conversation.
  11. If she’s doing that many K’s the resale value will be buggered on a low k’ed car when she adds 150,000 to 200,000 K’s in the next five years. So the black one at $7K less would seem a good option considering it may still be worth around $10K in five years at 350,000km + and any other car she gets now that’s around 300,000 in five years time would be about the same price anyway

  13. Firstly, are you insured ? Who has deemed it a write off, you ? Stat write offs are selling as low as $5/6K. But the auctions can be hit and miss and prices are all over the place. If you are not making an insurance claim and they haven’t been notified for them to deem it damaged and put it on the WOVR it’s value is slightly higher as it won’t be listed as a stat or repairable write-off when one does a PPSR on the vehicle. If this is the case, why not fix it. For a $40K vehicle you may only get back $5K to $10K. If you fix it, in theory the vehicle is still worth $40K but it will depend on what it will cost you to return it back as a running car. As long as it’s less than $30K, which you would of lost anyway, could be an option. Careful with your neck, as I’m suffering from whip lash injuries at present from March. Constant headaches, treatment gives me headaches, normal activities aggravate it and give me headaches and it’ll be about a year until it gets back to normal.
  14. I thought the early ones had yellow not clear indicators on the front guards, like this 02 172 I picked up on Saturday
  15. I don't think you need to track your car to get a sense of how it feels in this regard. But it all comes down to personal preference, some enjoy the nimble smaller Clio's when others the larger Meganes with turbo's. On the point of the thread as to which is the best, there's one major problem. The Clio ll & lll and Megane lll only come as a two door which most don't like as its not practicable with kids and hence not an option when wanting to also be able to track it. This leaves the Megane ll & IV as four doors as an option. The IV's would perhaps be to expensive as a toy for most and the ll's don't seem to be as popular as track cars compared to the others above. One other possible option would be a RS Megane 220 GT as a four door F4R engine car it fits the bill for the practical aspect, but having bought one five weeks ago I would say, one would find it wanting as a track car. I say this as I've lent my 182 to my dad and I've been driving the 225 Cup for the last three weeks on the back of driving the 220 for two weeks and find the 225 to be a fair bit perkier than the 220. So this leaves you with two options. 1. Get a cheap four door Clio ll and make a clone 172/182 2. Get a four door RS Megane GT (F4R) and make a clone 265/275 And yes, there's one major problem when not all people can do body/mechanical swaps themselves as it would cost a packet to pay someone for the work, so we're back at the start with no answer.
  16. I just hate the auto and more so when I want to drop it into 2nd to rev the shit out of it and it won’t let you, just wish they had release a manual. On saying that, it would still be about the same size and weight of a Meg ll and not as enjoyable as a 182
  17. 1 White hail damaged from qld I sold to my nephew as his first car 2 LY front damaged that I fixed and son now owns 3 LY rear damaged to fix 2 4 Black, bought first week of Jan and flipped back at auctions for easy profit 5 White stat write-off from water, undamaged otherwise waiting for an easy fix car to use it’s parts or just part out, or perfect as a trial manual conversion car undecided still so it’s sitting at my ol’mans along with a Meg lll wagon parts car that I’ll either part out or do a clone RS 265 wagon.
  18. They get knocked for a reason as that auto is shite. Ive bought five and would only ever keep one if I could cheaply do a manual conversion.
  19. Do you think you’re covered for an engine replacement because it’ll be a massive hit to your pocket with second hand engines quoted at $3500 then labour on top ?
  20. Oh yeah, and I hope these higher prices stay a little longer as I’ve got my 175 at Greys that should be listed Monday and my 200 got towed away today and should be listed Monday week at Pickles. So keep the money rolling.
  21. Speaking from the other side, my son sold his 182 Cup last night that he had advertised for $7500 and he was getting low ball offers of $5, 5.5 & 6K. A fair few buyers out there think they can low ball at present, dreamers.
  22. How’d I make this list ? We only own 11 Renaults in this house hold at present. Ok 9 of the 11 are in my name.
