Hi Ted, I spent a number of years travelling to Jakarta for work, actually miss the place. Congrats on getting the 265, would be interesting driving it around with the traffic there. I imagine you will have to get out of town to give it a good run.
Hi Steve, yes aware of the tire costs but had blinkers on to that issue when buying the car. I'm not up for new tires yet but talking to a guy last week he got some Goodyear eagle F1s from tire rack and saved a bomb. I recall seeing a thread somewhere about tire costs and working with tirerack. Might be worthwhile searching for it to find if it has the info you are looking for. It was also mentioned that if you go for 245s the tire price drops as well as 245s for 19" rims are a bit more common in Australia. If that is the case might be worthwhile seeing what options there are. I would be interested to hear what you find out.
Hi Evan. Great day wasn't it? Have to say it was a well ran event. I had the liquid yellow RS 265. Your spin certainly got everyone talking. Not sure if you are looking for something advanced or low cost but a friend put me on to an iPhone app yesterday, so I didn't get to use on Wednesday. I haven't really looked into it but there is a free version to try out first. It is called TrackAddict (all one word). From what I can gather it uses GPS to track your run and start the stop watch for each lap, record speed and you can video tap your run. Maybe some other guys on here have used this in the past and can advise.
This is more to do with my OCD but it bugs me how the passenger temp doesn't change with the driver temp when climate control is changed. I know you can set them the same by pressing the auto button for a few secs.
Thanks speedfiend41. Certainly more practical than the toyotas and Certainly a much better car. For me I should have got something that can carry a fair bit and tow 1200kg trailers but it was time for a car I could enjoy, hence heart over head. One test drive and I was hooked. I love the feel, the look and certainly the liquid yellow.
Just become a proud owner of a shiny new, liquid Yellow RS265. I haven't owned a Renault before but throughly enjoying this one. I live in the Hills so each drive is a bunch of fun.
It was certainly a purchase with heart over head as most of these are, I'm certainly not the first.
