  1. Card readers are universal in the 225's they aren't coded per se. Do you actually have a 225 cause ph1 and ph2 both can be tuned with fuel on the factory ECU. Don't know who the tuner you are using is but a lot of them don't know how to tune the SAGEM ECU properly, it took a few years for the folks in the UK to crack them back in the day. Not sure what state you are in but if Camden is the VIC one people usually suggest Underground Performance/eTuners/Auto Paris as the better local options. Best option is RSTuner though, over the internet but done by the best Renault Tuner in the UK.
  2. I've been down the rabbit hole of the Gen90 ecu and it really isn't worth it. If you really really want to dig, the tuners in South Africa know the most about it (couple of 1000hp+ fwd drag meganes running it out there). Be better money spent getting something like an Emerald or any other known brand in Aus and re-wiring, otherwise plenty of very good tuning options. Also - welcome K-tec!! Meg 2 represent.
  3. Do rate the AST's highly. @DOOOOK might drop in as he is running them as well. Not sure on his name on the forum but a regular at Targa has a set as well.
  4. Put it on a dyno and had the car remapped. Didn't do any mechanical modifications to it.
  5. I had a tuned one. Was a weapon. They will do 1100km to a tank if driven without a lead foot.
  6. In a huge custom turbo set up or a particularly bad OEM recirculation setup a BOV is good for holding boost. On the flip side the OEM valve in a 225 is perfectly fine for 400hp. On the further flip side if you do fit an aftermarket BOV you will need to have the car tuned because the spring rates do not match. TLDR - Install for noise only, no performance will be gained and if tuned incorrectly will be lost.

    Meg 2 AC drama

Changing it is one of the simpler jobs on these cars and is doable by anyone with a little tool knowledge and some confidence. Easier with a second person. De-gas. Take the front bumber off and the front left (facing car) quarter panel. Remove under tray. Wheel may need to come off but that's up to you. Undo all the AC connections. Use a hex extension and rotate the assembly forward to remove belt tension and remove the belt. Unplug the wiring and undo the bolts. Should drop out and just reverse the process to reconnect. Or not up to you mate. Good luck on getting it fixed.
  8. The wear is a tad more aggressive for sure but I don't feel like I'm going through tires that much faster. Maybe 10-15% faster than if you ran stock pressures.
  9. Welcome to the forum! If throttle heavy they tend to understeer hard because no LSD. Obviously rubber is always a personal choice. Try running 29psi front (cold) and 32psi rear (cold). This is what I daily drive on and it changes the dynamics of the car greatly. A ton of grip up front and the rear is lose. it isn't for everyone.
  10. Hello friend and welcome. Any off the shelf filter will give you more noise if that is all you are after, you really don't need an entire kit, just remove the batter box and insert the filter in its place. As far as exhausts go, the most common method is to remove one of the middle resonators from the car. I'd say no more than $120 AUD to get a filter and cut/replace a section of pipe.
  11. Ran RE003 for a long time on my Megane before I swapped them out and they are a very solid choice. Capable on the track and I'd presume on a lighter vehicle last more laps before they overheat.
  12. Yeah pretty much. I was going to type LS but then thought of course there are plenty of barras going around so changed it to simply V8. Sounds like a hectic build though haha.
  13. I think Quad was referring to the builds over in the UK not here in Australia. In that respect he is just stating the obvious that plagues countries that have far less restrictive rules than Australia (eg - USA, NZ). Even still, the amount of "chopped hectic VE's" in this country would beg to differ. We have just as many dodgy cars here in Australia, the only difference being that folks that do those builds have gotten slowly better at hiding the dodgy builds while in the other countries they just celebrate the builds. I've got friends that have (on their P's) built rb's into 350kw+ monsters and put them in their already legally registered 1.8ltr NA 180sx. They just keep the car looking clean, completely stock and put a conservative exhaust. The cops never pay any attention and since building rb's is one of the only cheapish engines in this country (outside of a v8) they just keep it registered as the stock car. If they happen to crash they just tear the engine out themselves, buy another body and replace the engine once again. Personally I'd disagree on the point of modding newer cars. We don't see it here because of location and cost but if you go to other countries like above you will note a vibrant modifying scene for brand new cars because they can get away with it far more than we can.
  14. You can count on 1 hand the only conversions that seem regular in this country. Honda engines in lotus', RB's in various JDM and ADM's , rotaries in a few random cars and lastly the classic ls swap. Anything else is usually in a magazine in this country as it's usually a crap ton of money, time and very rare aha.
  15. Everything is more expensive when you live on a giant island haha. Carsales is probably most peoples go to for perusing cars but both gumtree (I'm sure you know this one) and quicksales are worth looking at. Especially quicksales. Sometimes insane bargains can be had.
