  1. I'm not sure that refusing editing permissions unless you are a subscriber is a wise thing. I've been running MB forums for well over 10 years and never had to ask for subs or advertising sponsorship. I find it eats into the quality of membership. There's nothing wrong with subs - but refusing basic permissions is not a very sensible idea.
  2. Test drove a DS3 sport and ended up in an 808. Loved the cache of the DS3, but the a-pillar made me feel a tad claustrophobic. possibly the dark headlining helped that as well. Nonetheless, they are a very cool little machine.
  3. Glad it's gone now lol Just in case you guys weren't aware, they've had a govt department reshuffle, and the old road & traffic authority has been completely dismantled. There is no department looking after roads or traffic in NSW anymore. There is a New RTA though. it's actually called the Revenue & Taxation Authority. And they're putting up more speed cameras everywhere. The latest is on Mt Ousley Rd - average speed cameras. All this from a premier who promised not to as an election commitment. Lying C*nts.
  4. Welcome aboard. Nice colour choice there (the ONLY choice for an RS) whats your build # ???
  5. I love the insinuation that French cars are notoriously unreliable. I wouldn't have bought one if it were true however. all cars have their design flaws or weaknesses ( depending how you see the world), and I'd hardly say that any particular manufacturer is capable of producing a vehicle of such quality that it needs anything less than regular maintenance to provide the owner with a high degree of reliability. not even a rolls royce can promise that.
  6. Went through this process only a few months ago. I made the mistake of letting my other half drive the standard Megane (not an rs) We then tested a Citroen ds3 sport, an Abarth essesse, a guiletta, an mps, an 86, a ford f*kRS, an SLK55, Scirocco R, Volvo C30, Audi S3 and A1, an M 135 coupe and a Cayman S. Obviously not all the cars were new ones, but a Cayman is a bit dearer than a Megane… so compromise was decided: cash vs performance vs comfort vs load carrying. Almost bought the SLK 55, but the missus fell in love with the DS3 sport. I then twisted my missus arm to drive the RS megane as a last resort. She had a very negative opinion of the standard car, but hopped in an RS and it was a no brainer. Why not the SLK??? because we already had 5 mercedes-benz in the driveway at the time we went looking, and I really wanted something different, and so did the other half. Then we found out that none of the options we wanted for the DS3 were available. After doing the shopping, things came full circle. Sometimes this is what you have to do - you need to let her drive the car, not just what you want to have in the driveway. Things have a habit of working out- and a LY 8:08 sits in the driveway. Every time you get in the car it excites and energizes. It looks fantastic, has a little bit of French Quirkiness (not as much as the citroen though) and goes like sh*t off a chrome shovel. And to that end, an RS265 will not disappoint. Stick her in a demo trophy + with all the trimmings and then in the red bull, and see which she prefers. I guarantee she will want the electric seats over the recaros. heheh. So then the only compromise you will have to address is whether you get a Red Bull edition or a Trophy+

Thanks for the heads up guys! Believe it or not I've already spoken to Steven about his car, but due to other half being ill today we couldn't make it up to see him. I think he's nursing a hangover anyway back to the grind again tomorrow

Hi everyone, Just dropping in, doing the polite thing and saying hello. Currently no RS in the garage, but working on that. Been a Merc guy for quite a few years and very happy with current vehicles, but just sold my daily driver signal red 190e 2.6 which means it's time to look for another daily... and the rs3m 250 /265 looks like a good thing. I'm just looking for something different, and the RS3M has similar power to my cosworth, with a 25 year younger chassis... Currently trolling the topics and looking for the usual caveats when purchasing a different vehicle than what I'm used to. So if anyone has advice on what to look for, or knows of a nice 250 cup trophee or a 265 trpohy+ going for good $$$ let me know I've got sound mech. knowledge and not afraid of a challenge, and shouldn't take long to cement myself in the drivers seat once I find 'the one' Cheers
