  1. Welcome mate, Very nice car. The previous owner was also a member here and I remember when he had it up for sale. Beautiful example of a 250 in Extreme Blue no other variant of the Meg 3 RS came in that colour the 250s were the only ones. They are an incredible car and one of the best Best bang for buxck you can buy these days. Enjoy! Sam.
  2. Hi PaulD, looks like some PMs are now coming through. thanks sam.
  3. for me personally Tapatalk hasn't made it any easier then when i was using my mobile. This new site actually formats very well on mobiles.so for me anyways i don't think my frequenting this forum will depend on whether Tapatalk is available or not. It is the community spirit that gets me coming back and the great people that I've come across and met on this forum. Cheers, Sam.
  4. Hi Guys, I'm having issues with PMs not getting through i've sent several top people who would normally reply really quickly and also to the admin team and still no response. If you see this CLOUDY please send me a text 0448883538 your items are waiting shipping I've sent you the dimensions.
  5. Hi Guys, I tried to pm Administrators but i keep getting an error code 500? Anyways what i would like to do is run a Sale and or Auction of 172 bits that i have in my garage and would like 100% of the proceeds to go the the site. Could one of the admins please let me know how i can go about it please? i had already started a for sale thread but would like to either close it and start another or edit. please let me know Sam.

    I'm Back!

was yours the yellow one? im just trying to remember
  9. If I'm not mistaken doesnt the 200 already have LSD compared to the 197 and 182?
  10. you can do the headlight your self using detergent 800 grit,1500 and then 2000 grit sand paper with a coat of clear afterwards to protect followed up with some nice wax to protect them. should cost you under $20 for all the parts needed and about 2-3hrs depending on how fussy you are about the finish.it took me about that for my Clio 172. Welcome by the way and yep! check out Ktec and Demon tweeks and a few other U.K places. Cheers Sam.
  11. thank you for the offer cloudy, I'll keep it in mind. if anyone can recommend best bang for buck transport companies that would be great.
  12. I've made a deal with walkie to hang onto her for a fortnight or so whilst i save for a transport back up here, SWMBO did suggest i take a road trip with someone and enjoy the drive back up but I've got a few projects due at work and i wouldn't feel right leaving her alone with both kids whilst she is working at the same time. Especially given how my little 2yr old son likes to run a muck when dad isn't around to keep him amused and under control and our 8yr old daughter isn't much help at the moment as she thinks she is 18! hahahaha I'll think some more on it though and get back you, appreciate the offer mate. Sam.
  13. It has been a test in patience with all things "grown up" and "logical" to do getting in the way. hopefully i can do it justice and enjoy the car. it is hard trying to not spend every cent i have on mods for the girl though isnt it?
  14. I will do my best to make sure she gets a good life in QLD.
  15. Price agreed on and deposit sent! more info to follow I'm just over the moon! Thanks for all the advice guys and hopefully I can do this car justice and drive it like its meant to be driven Cheers Sam.
  16. Thanks for the heads up guys ill chat with Walkie and see how it goes...but i do like the front end of the ph2 better and not really a fan of the steering wheel/speedo of the ph1s....might grow on me though. plus this car will be a daily that takes me to the train station etc... for work and will be used on occasion to pick the kids up from daycare. cheers sam.
  17. What are the differences from a ph1 and a ph2? I know they were limited but what else is the difference despite front end? Cheers sam.
  18. Hey Guys, Been a little while, 8 months 3 weeks to be exact...not that i'm counting or anything . and so SWMBO has finally gotten sick of me sitting at home and looking like a lost puppy and has given the go ahead for me to purchase something to help get me back behind the drivers seat of a car i can have fun with. I'm now looking to get into a Clio 172 or if the money is right a really really cheap 182, budget is $3-4K MAX. I would love to purchase another 250/265 or even a 275 but unfortunately we are currently paying rent as well as a mortgage and saving up for items we would like done once the house is complete. I also want something that if all goes south on the race track i won't be in too much financial strife. So guys i need your help and expertise to get me back behind the wheel of a good track car/daily that will not only get me to and from the train station but also i can enter into all sorts of events. Now bear in mind that the purchase is just that a purchase price and the budget for modding will come later...I just need an involving drive ASAP to keep my sanity in check! I would like to get into some thing that won't need too much work and i could get back on a track ASAP as in only need to purchase tyres, fluids etc... Cheers Sam. P.S I was looking at getting into a cheap RWD 4 cylinder like an MX-5 or similar for simliar money but can't beat the bang for buck of a 1*2 at the moment. especially given the fact that i would prefer to remain a part of this awesome community.
  19. Hi and welcome mate!! Great to hear your in QLD!! We are sorely lacking any Renault specialists in QLD and have been very envious of the guys down south. Hopefully your boss comes onboard so we can all take our cars over!
  20. only goes to prove the point of how ridiculously complicated it became with different "Editions" and "Options" with the 265 range hahahahaha
  21. They are a very special car I fell in love with mine from the moment i took the 1st corner and loved every minute of my ownership.like you i hope to be back in one by next year as well. When you drove the Hertz 265 unless you pressed that little known sport button then you were driving a 250. the 265's are really a 250 until you press the sport button at which point it unlocks the extra 15Hp as well different throttle mapping depending if it had an RSMonitor. differences between pre facelift and facelift as far as i know is only cosmetic until you go back a little further in which case early 265s came with the RSMonitor or satnav. later on this was integrated into one unit with the arrival of the Redbull limited edition or RB8 and then it carried on through to the facelift and 265 as well as the 275 the trophy R. All 250/265 and 275 share the same chassis tuning and handle identical until you reach the 275 Trophy's which came with the special ohlins suspension and other goodies. now if your hunting for a 265 then i wish you goodluck as that particular model had the most variations all of which only concentrated on interior and or paint/wheels. performance wise it is the same from a 265 cup all the way to the top tier 808 limited editions as well the RB8. The 250 range only came in 2 options Cup or Trophee's. this was a designation whcih allowed for Recaro sportster seats/keyless entry/front sensors and bi-xenons. the normal CUP variant also only came with 18" Axel Rims vs the 19" Steevs for the Trophee's in the 250 range you got a static glass roof with your satnav. and lastly there was only 1 "Special Edition" 265 ever released in the Australia designated the "Sport" which only came in one special blue colour same the french Gendarmerie(sp). This particular model did not come withteh standard limited slip diff, but did have the silver brembo brakes and silver tibor 18" rims, it also got a more compliant suspension tune but did come with the Recaro seats. (correct me if i'm wrong) Hope this helps to clear it up. Sam

    Rs250 Owner

Welcome mate! I used to own an RS250 Cup and loved every moment of it. Keep the wheels the 18" that came in the RS250 is probably one of the most sought after and it never got released in the 265 or 275. they only weigh 11kg and are a great ride when fitted to some decent rubber. welcome again and always good to see another QLD member, I think we are closing the gap in terms of members when compared to the southern states hopefully enough to entice some of their better mechanics *cough* RenaultTech *cough* to maybe open a branch here? Cheers Sam.
  23. the 18" 250 rims are much nicer IMO and seem to be more popular then the Tibors. quite hard to find though, One member on here spent quite a few months trying to find a set. I can only speak about the standard seats in the 250 and 265s as mine was a CUP, they were comfy even after drives that lasted well over 4hrs and at the track they performed ok. I had some trouble in hard cornering but otherwise a good daily. I've only briefly sat in the Recaro's and they are different from the 220, they felt lower then my standard seats but had good bolstering. Get the Recaro's and put some 18" rims on and you will probably negate some of the concerns you have Cheers Sam.
