I still havent sold my VXR yet so today i took it in for its 70k service. Jeez its bloody quick! So i have a question that maybe relates a bit to my stupidity. I drove an RS265 Trophy once in Perth but i really didnt give it much as the traffic was crappy but the drive and handling were amazing. Even though i didnt give it much i dont remember the acceleration being do different to my VXR. So i bought mine from Melbourne. Is it just because of the different acceleration curves that the VXR seems quicker but the actual 0-100 is virtually the same? Or is there something wrong with my Meg that i need to address?

    OH NO!!!!

First impressions: The car is pretty sweet! Although I haven't figured out how to work most of the stuff yet. The lights come on during the night the wipers come on when it rains. The drive and handling is amazing. Maybe my VXR is just unrefined. After driving the RSM for a day I got back in to my VXR and Holy crap did it feel quick. Not used to more linear acceleration of the RSM. The VXR kicks off slow and then all of a sudden it's at stupid.

  10. Yes. Still have the wife's MY02 Clio Expression. Have spent a crapload on it over the last few months - timing belt, wheel bearing, passenger airbag module, starter motor and other stuff. And right now it sits dead in the driveway. I'm hoping its the battery and the recon alternator is working fine. Her days are numbered! Prob trade her in for a mazda 2 or new Fiesta.
  11. This could be considered commercially sensitive by buyers or sellers. I think it would be a good topic though - helps benchmark the actual cost rather than the estimated costs. If the mods belive it should be killed - kill away! I bought my RSC MY02 in Mid 2004 for $24000 with approx 35000km. I sold it in March 2008 with approx 96000km for $12750 to a dealer in Perth as a trade in for a demo Rex.
  12. The wife's starter motor on a 2002 Clio Expression (1.4) was replaced at Euro Car Parts in Kenwick yesterday. $195 for a 2nd hand exchange starter motor. I asked them to fit it as well considering i can't fit my head in the engine bay. It took them 5 hours! - 5 hours to fit a starter motor????? Total cost - $550 Renault quoted about $1070 BTW. Euro Car Parts sell 5L bottles of Elf Excellium - sorry but i didnt get the price.
  13. It sounds like i may be just doing the wrong searches. Most of the time i'll do a quick search and if i get 2000 hits with no titles relating to the query then i would usually just start a new thread.
  14. Hi Guys, I apologise for using this website but i feel more comfortable here. As you may know i recently sold my RSC and i just bought a MY08 WRX and joined a WRX forum. Now, i suppose i don't spend a lot of time on forums probably because i'm not so technically minded and i'm a bit crap at forum ettiquette and was hoping you can help. As it is with this forum i think that more than 90% of items or issues regarding the RSC has been discussed at length in some way or another. So unless youre doing a complete rebuild its pretty much guaranteed that your query is in the forum somewhere. Generally, what i do is a quick search on the issue or query and if the query is not in the title and/or embedded in a long post about something else i would generally start a new thread. What happens in this case, is that long term posters come back and spank you with the seach function and that you should do proper searches prior to starting a new thread. If thats the case most of the time, wont the forum just become a google search engine for nosy RSC owners rather a forum whereby owners feel free to come and chat about their car and joys or perils of ownership?
  15. Ouch! Was that covered by insurance Reez? I remember that storm, knocked a few trees down in my backyard. Do you remember when i came over and asked you about the black cable hanging low underneath the car and you tucked it under. I though it was electrical - it was actually the clutch cable. I asked REnault to take a look afew weeks later and they couldnt find anything for the next 3 services unitl my clutch cable broke last month. They've had the car for 6 weeks now waiting for the housing to come out of France. As a consolation insurance is covering it.
