#589462 Another Frb182

Posted by Johnacles on 26 April 2017 - 10:11 AM

Hey all,

Long time OZRS lurker, even came to nats in 2013 (as a wee-lad with Trixie). Anyway, seeing as I've convinced him to share the FRB 182 with me (now he's got an M2 on the way) I thought I should make a hello post.

Car is currently running an RS Tuner, Remus exhaust, Koni Yellows and Eibach Springs rolling on Speedline turinis on AD08R's. Convinced it is THE most fun car in the world.

Looking forward to getting out on track for the first time properly, and of course talking [emoji90] with all you legends.

Here's a couple of bonus photos!

#554364 Clio Rs Restores The Fun Of Driving!

Posted by speadsracer on 16 August 2016 - 08:12 PM

Hi ladies and gents; I am a new member from Melbourne. I've previously owned a Clio 182 from new which was an awesome car. I regularly travel to Europe and lease cars for the duration. Last year I had a Clio RS 200 which re-ignited my passion for hot hatches. As a consequence I've just purchased a secondhand Clio 3 RS, Angel and Demon edition out of Sydney. It has done minimal K's, has a lot of mods and is in immaculate condition. The best part was driving it back to Melbourne which required a stop every few kilometres so I could accelerate back up to freeway speed and listen to the Akrapovic exhaust crackling out the back. I am an old Mini racer and the handling is awesome and the steering sublime. This car just puts a smile on my face.....! I've owned many, many cars and have also just taken delivery of a new Audi RS3 which is simply a computer on wheels in comparison. I previously owned a couple of Maserati Gransport's and while they were impressive grand tourer's with an engine note to die for, they can't match the fun of the Renault.

#572789 Finally Did It! New R.s 275

Posted by RobbieR on 07 January 2017 - 04:27 PM

Hi Guys,

So after many months of procrastination I finally bit the bullet and ordered my new Megane RS275 Cup Premium.

I picked it up just after Christmas and so far loving every km of it!  Its Pearl White with the Panoramic Sunroof.

After having a break from track capable cars its nice to be back into something performance orientated.

I'm Brisbane based and looking forward to joining the group drives, Nebo and track days. Once I get a few thousand km's on it I'll start looking into the modifications for track.

On that note, slim line plates ordered to tidy that front/rear up

#591902 Did A Thing Bought Something French

Posted by AntB on 12 May 2017 - 07:29 AM

Hi All

So went car shopping with the better half a few weeks back to replace her car, which we very different from how I thought... I'm now trading in my S-Edition Forester & picking up a Clio iv RS Cup tomorrow morning & better half is still stuck with her old car

**side note for my safety it is our car, I don't need her poisoning my dinner**

About me I'm a massive car nut & always had a soft spot for the Renault's but this is my first time owning one, test driving the Cup was the first time I've jumped in a car that drives like my BMW e30 project/weekend racer. Got a few plans for the Clio but nothing too wild so I can retain my warranty, looking at the exotic mods front lip & sides skirt extensions, SSR GTV02 which i hope I can make fit, & the ren sport rear wing.

I'm a tad sad to see this go, it currently makes 184kw atw & 807nm(flat four torque is a beautiful thing)

The Clio's stable mate & ongoing project that will never finish, hours & hours of blood, sweat & tears over the past 7yrs

#567664 Hello

Posted by Boffin on 20 November 2016 - 07:06 PM

Hi All!

Bought a Clio RS182 Cup around 6 months ago as a little fun toy to have on the side and it gives me a giggle whenever I go out for a blat. Had to do the timing belt as soon as I bought it (turned out it had never been done and was down to the canvas  - finding out after I had driven it from Melbourne to Sydney of course) but other than the whole palava with rear wheel bearings it's been cruisy motoring. According to everyone who's been under it its in good shape and the engine is making healthy power.

Bought it with some pretty scratched alloys, so it's now sitting on a set of anthracite 2118s wrapped in RE003s. The only other mod being a KTR intake to give it a little more voice.

Joining up just looking to talk cars, as well as receive advice for possible mods to come. Following the herd and on the hunt for a Cupra R front lip, and I think the Whiteline Swaybar are possibly next on the list.

This is me and the car on a little photoshoot of mine, shortly after someone poured a whole bucket of water on themselves at 1am on a cold July night

#555720 Megane Rs 265 At Last!

Posted by DaveMc on 25 August 2016 - 05:52 PM

Hello all, looks like you’ve got a great thing going here.

I’ve just bought a 2014 Megane RS 265 after a long hunt. They’re sensational cars, and quite good value on the used market these days.

I've been lucky enough to drive quite a few third-generation Meganes over the years – pretty much everything from the non-Cup 265 Limited Edition all the way up to the mental Trophy R – in a few interesting places. A rental Renault at the Nurburgring earlier this year sealed the deal, and we started looking for a car at home.

I started out in search of a fairly basic car with Recaros and no sunroof before my other half shook things up by being adamant it had to have heated seats and a reversing camera. The black machine here fits the bill, it is a 2014 Megane RS 265 Cup + with leather comfort seats, bi-xenons, 19s, front parking sensors etc. We got a strong deal, trading in our VW for the new machine.

Took it for a long drive at dawn the next day, leaving Sydney for the Royal National Park, Sea Cliff Bridge, Macquarie Pass, Jamberoo Pass, Kangaroo Valley and a couple of quiet roads near Bowral and Mittagong. I’m in love.

I’m a member of the Bathurst car club, so the plan is to do the odd hillclimb or track day with the car.

Looking forward to the journey, thanks for having me on board.

#587246 2013 Rs 265 Trophy+

Posted by spedwards on 09 April 2017 - 09:47 PM

Hi all,

I'm a new 2013 Megane RS 265 Trophy+ owner and after a few recent RS convoys thought I'd say Hi. I love the car, I had lined up a number of hot hatches for test drive but after driving a 2011 250 Trophee I knew that it had to be a Megane.

#576072 The 4 Year Wait..

Posted by theshoesmoo on 30 January 2017 - 07:38 PM

Hey all,

After a test drive way back in 2012 I finally just went for it and swapped my XR5 for a used 265 Cup with around 10K on the clock back late November.

Main stall point was my wife who does not drive manual and a 2.5 year old but after reading the wise words throughout this forum about others in similar situations (you know who you are, thank you!) I figured, eh already got the auto family wagon and my little guys red baby seat will match the belts perfectly and the deal was done.

Took my little guy down when I did the deal and trade and much fun swapping baby seats but he was loving the Meg and was kept very occupied with its general awesomeness -  felt right he be there to see Dada's toy shop

For those coming from an XR5 (the car I said I would never sell (but got more hits in the rear than I care to remember)) my thoughts are:

- Ok low-down torque is gone but whatever, just kicks a$$ so much more

- Angle of the speedo - noticed it first day but long gone memory - why don't more cars have this!

- Rear vision - Dodgy as but you really get used to using the mirrors in no time

- Don't think, just do it :headbang:

Anyway car is awesome and it has become the new family wagon funny enough (didn't see that coming!) and my little guy loves it, especially our new ritual "make the funny car sound and push the go fast button dada!"

Took it down to the lads at Reno Tech a week or two back, who are an awesome bunch of guys and will service it forever (thanks again Forum!) who gave my car the all clear and all nicely serviced and tuned up. See you out there!

Cheers, Gareth

PS - Ok this time for real, this is the car I will never sell

#570695 Hi! New Rs Owner. Clio 182 Cup In Adelaide

Posted by radiusAU on 16 December 2016 - 11:44 AM

Hey guys / girls,

Just picked this little Clio up a couple of weeks ago. Needed some work but with new belts, rear rotors and bearings she's now running nicely up and down the hills. Most likely going to keep it stock (aside from any other vintage Elf stickers I can source) but looking forward to having something fun to drive over the summer. Already picked up plenty of tips that helped me with a dodgy AC servo gear so looking forward to meeting more of you nice people on here in the future!

#562703 New Meg R.s. Just Arrived!

Posted by Steveo16 on 14 October 2016 - 06:59 PM

Hi everyone. Finally got my RS 275 cup premium 3 weeks back. Traded my '13 Fiesta ST for it (which I loved). The Meg's not run in yet, so I've yet to explore its full virtues, BUT...... After all the criticism I've read about the ride, it feels like a limo compared to the FiST. 1st impressions = Excellent! One mistake I did make on order was Black. It looks superb for the first 10 seconds after you finish waxing it, then it's all pollen & dust. So in 3 weeks it's been washed 5 times & waxed twice (call me anal if you like). Last wash & wax was Monday, it rained Tuesday, guess what I'm doing on Sunday!

#544403 1St Day In A Clio

Posted by Schoey on 08 June 2016 - 09:32 PM

I think I'm in trouble

1. I was looking at the GPS screen every few seconds to see if there were any bends coming up.
2. I got really excited when the GPS informed me there was a roundabout just 97km away.
3. I would turn the music down when aforementioned roundabout came up so I could hear the car better.
4. Roundabouts are now my favourite thing, sorry sex and Toblerone you're now down to equal 2nd.
5. I find myself googling 'track days NSW'.
6. I've never named a car before, but lé gigglemobile deserves it, gigi for short.

Please send help....
